side panels
The two side panels opening with a document every time is increibly annoying. I just want the document to fill the window.

I have Adobe Acrobat (64-bit) (25.001.20474) and the "All tools" panel keeps opening for each new document. This "eats up" monitor space and therefore my document is displayed smaller than it could have been! Add an option inside preferences to prevent this panel from appearing! Same goes for all sorts of AI tools.
This is extremely distracting the user from actually focusing on the contents of the document. Haven't you sold us a software for VIEWING documents?! A true disrespect to the user.

I recently got an Issue with this. And I shared my screen with support and we figured out that for certain files (PDF created from CAD software) keep opening the right panel, because they have it in their properties, like each files has its own property to open the page and the panels, so in order to keep this file from opening the panel you have to change this property and save it, so the next time you open it wont open the panels. It's so annoying

I logged in to report this same feature request. Having to close the right and left panels every single time I open a file is definitely a nuisance.

Hi Adam, Thank you for your feedback.
Are you on Acrobat or Reader? In Acrobat, the All tools panel on left remembers the state. And, right panels open by default only if it has content that can be shown in the right panel, for example if document has comments, then it will open the comments panel by default. Comments actually has a preference that you can toggle to not open the comments panel on document having comments. It is in Preferences > Commenting > [Checkbox] Show comments pane when a PDF with comments in opened.
We dont have such preference for other right panes. We have taken this feedback and will work on to improve the experience.
