I fully agree. The user interface is regressing, while bugs in Acrobat have not been fixed for years. For instance:
1) pressing reading mode (Cntl H) and full Screen (Cntl L) gets both functions confused and leaves me with a black screen unless I exit the previous function first.
2) The shortcuts that existed for tools (such as text highlighting, etc) do not exist any more. So when being in reading or dull screen mode, I need to bring up toolbars first so that I can press the desired tool button.
3) It seems to be a general trend with Adobe and windows to make the GUI look good,with the current definition of good being that everything is rather colors less. Functionality seems to be a low priority because over the years Acrobat got worse. If I could, I would still be using Acrobat 8. -
