TO: Adobe Acrobat Pro and Edit .Pdf Team: Please, please, please - you must make the edit .pdf tool much more user friendly. Terrible for
I just spent the last 2 hours trying to change the margins and the paragraph spacing on a simple document with just 4 pages.
YOU MUST GO BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD AND MAKE YOUR TOOLS MUCH MORE USER FRIENDLY TO THE AVERAGE PERSON. UNTIL ADOBE FIGURES OUT HOW TO MAKE THEIR TOOLS MORE USER-FRIENDLY, YOU WILL CONTINUE TO LOSE CUSTOMERS IN THE MEANTIME. GREAT TOOLS AND RESOURCES - awful user-friendly applications. When we spend 2 hours with an Adobe customer support person on chat who cannot even do this simple task with time efficiency, then it is clear to me that you are not making this a priority. Adobe's stock price will grow exponentially once your leadership and management makes all of your applications easier to use - for your customer support people as well as your customers.
Thank you for the feedback. I have forwarded your request to the engineering team. They will reach out to you if any more information is needed.
I think there is a misconception here that Acrobat is a "Layout" program. Acrobat was designed to be able to transport files without being able to change them. When you ship pdf files out to a printer or publication you have the confidence that nothing will change.
"Portable Document Format (PDF) is a file format used to present and exchange documents reliably, independent of software, hardware, or operating system."
If you need to make edits you should go back to the native application the pdf came from and make them there.
Feb 2018 you (Mr Ansari) offered thanks for feedback and some glimmer this dreadful upgrade to ADOBE would be rectified. Aug 2019 and ADOBE Pro (latest) is still as bad as ever. IT WOULD APPEAR YOU ARE NOT LISTENING OR SEEING THE OBVIOUS FLAWS WITH YOUR SUPPOSED IMPROVEMENTS.
BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD MR ANSARI. NEW VER. OF ACROBAT CLUNKY, HARD TO USE, AND APPEARS TO GAVE BEEN DEVELOPED BY SOMEONE WITH ADD. i.e. It's terrible. There is no logic or sense to the way Tools are used. Clearly NONE of your engineers have had to practically apply and use ACROBAT PRO in a working environment. If you did you would be embarressed at the mess you have created. THE OLD VERSION WAS FAR SUPERIOR!!!!
I totally agree... Adobe has changed the format so much from Version 9/... it is absolutely waste of time. Adobe needs to provide version 9 which was simpler and effective.
Hello. I have used Acrobat since the very first version decades ago. You are making a common assumption that many before you have made. Acrobat was never intended to be a page layout program. By design it was created only to be a sort of delivery envelope so that others could view the document without having the software used to create the source files.
If changes such as margins or etc. need to happen to a document, those changes should happen in the source software such as MS Word, Adobe InDesign, Ventura, . . . There are good reasons for this.
PDFs aren't made to be extensively edited and this is a feature, not a mistake. I'm a professional designer and like the fact that my PDFs can't be edited easily. I also use the Files > Properties > Security tab to further prevent anyone making changes. I can see how some people want to be able to change a PDF to their hearts content, but, sorry folks, I hope fully featured editing does not ever become possible.
An easy option is to export the PDF to Microsoft Word in Acrobat and then you can change things to your hearts content and make a new PDF.
You'll find that this complaint is raging in other threads. WORST layout of tools ever. Not intuitive. Childlike cartoon icons. Customers who invest in the Pro version expect professional software programs. They totally missed the mark on these "improvements."

All I want to do is be able to change the margins of a page! Even someone who knows very little about computers knows to go to page set up and change a margin. Why does this have to be greyed out so no changes can be made. Not everyone wants a 1" margin all around.

Not to mention your RESPONSE time is off the scale... Wow, I just saw how long it took you to respond to the original poster...and you offered NO resolution. Bye.

I couldn't agree MORE! Not everyone comes into a program with a solid knowledge of computers and the language. I came to Adobe from Office, and I think it is not worth the time it takes me to try to figure out every little thing when I can do it with Word SO much easier. I wanted the extra features of Adobe DC Pro, but when I lose half of my day sitting here frustrated just to look up and see my entire document is GONE and I have no idea what happened, I just cannot justify the expense of a program too complicated for me to use. There are not even any "help" click, and I don't have time to sit all day through YouTube Tutorials that I won't remember all of anyway. I am ready to copy all my stuff and move back to Word.
