Bug..Mac High Sierra - transparency option no longer available in properties for cells/appearance
I have been preparing forms and creating text boxes, check boxes etc for some time now.
Recently, I am unsure if was a recent update or because I have updated to highSierra on my mac, there is no longer a 'transparent' option available.

Yeah I feel like the only fix is to have an old PDF with a transparent box and set the settings to default or copy/paste the box. Which to me is not an acceptable solution but simply a smart workaround for a problem that Adobe needs to fix.

Yep. Still not solved after updates. I’m having to copy settings from an old PDF to the current to allow transparency.

Yes I have had this exact same issue and have spent hours of my time with the Adobe Customer Support Chat and they have not developed a solution. The transparent button should be an easy feature to add back. To me it looks like with the addition of the paint bucket tool to change fill/boarder color and opacity, the transparent button in the fill option has been removed.
PLEASE FIX.
