Stop text boxes from combining
PLEASE fix so text boxes stop combining. I KNOW Acrobat is not an "editiing" app but I have to make contact sheets from multiple products and sources from Adobe Bridge. Then the client needs a couple changes, or we need to update an area on the contact sheet ONLY. Constantly have to fight to redo text. Not editable in other apps - Illustrator can only open one page at a time. Can't edit PDF in Indesign. Can't edit in Word. These are NATIVE pdf's from Bridge. Thank you.

I have similar problem on text boxes that are keep combining. I have to rework or further edit the Line Spacing setting to 4 or 5 so that my figures / amounts / texts do not combine and these can be re-aligned according to the Bills of Quantities (BQ) respective items. For bidding on big projects with lots of pdf BQ pages, this re-editing is another time-consuming. The previous version Acrobat Pro 11 was way better even the Line Spacing is set at 1.2. I hope this can be fixed soon.

This will never be fixed because this forum is just to placate users. There are no actual Adobe employees monitoring this forum...

There are other pdf editors that do a much better job selecting only the text you actually wish to edit. I personally use Master PDF for edits of this nature, and then go back to Acrobat to "publish" the document using Adobe standards. It's pretty seamless. Maybe you might also try PDF Pen or FoxIt. That being said, Master PDF Editor has its own areas of misery-inducing fails, as do all PDF editors. After spending countless hours seeking the holy grail of PDF editors -- the does-it-all, perfect PDF software experience -- I have come to the conclusion it does not exist; you literally need a smattering a different editors, each with its own niche or area in which it excels and does better than all the other editors out there. When used together you'll get nearly all the solutions you need and will lower your frustration level. Trust, I had before written off Acrobat because it just sucks to no end, only to find it in fact does certain things way better than other editors out there. It is indispensable, in my opinion, but sorely needs to be supplemented if you want the job done, as do they all.
My two cents, fwiw.

This behavior is completely ridiculous and inappropriate. Who in their right mind would think blithely smashing text boxes together is the correct way to do anything?
