"a file conversion is already in progress"
TITLE:
Saving PDF file from Word always results in "a file conversion is already in progress" error on a Mac.
In Word the Acrobat ribbon's "Create PDF" button either does nothing when it is clicked or it results in "a file conversion is already in progress" error from Acrobat.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE:
1. Open any Word Document
2. Click Acrobat tab to see the Acrobat Ribbon
3. Click "Create PDF"
4. This opens the "Acrobat Create PDF" dialog box.
"You can create high quality, rich and accessible PDFs using Adobe Create PDF cloud service.
Click Yes to create a rich PDF using this service
Click No to create a PDF without using this service"
- Click the the "Yes" Button.
The first time you do this, nothing happens. The second time you do this it brings up this error message:
"A file conversion is already in progress. Please retry after that conversion is completed"
EXPECTED RESULT:
It makes a PDF.
OBSERVED RESULT:
It does nothing or give me that error mentioned above.
ENVIRONMENT (and conditions):
Mac OSX Sierra 10.12.6
License is an enterprise deal through our University that comes with Adobe CC and Acrobat DC
I have tried docs with one line, and I have tried docs with multiple pages, it will be the same result on my Mac.
I have trained about 25 people at my univeristy on this buggy product. This error happens on about 50% of peoples computers.
Please, don't tell me to reinstall. This is a clean install.
If I use the "Create PDF" button on my PC running Windows 10 it functions as expected. Most people at my University are on a Mac, so we can't just say use a PC.
This is a very urgent issue to fix at my university because we need to make our PDF files Accessible. This bug pretty much means half the people who need to make an Accessible PDF file from word can't do it.
Can you please let us know scenario you are using?
Best Regards!

This does not help. Latest Mac OS, latest Acrobat subscription. Simply cannot make a PDF from a word docx file. Word 2016.

I have exactly the same issue.

No Bob, they never really investigated it. I never found a work around. Is your situation like mine? Owning both a PC and Mac as part of the Creative Cloud subscription, or is this a diff scenario.
Since Adobe won't help. Lets keep this thread alive to see if we can pinpoint the circumstances that create the scenario.

Did you ever get this resolved. We are having the same issue and Adobe has been useless. We are trying to create accessible PDFs from Word docs but we can convert them because of this error

Can you be more specific? What is missing in my explanation above? Do you need a screencast?

Yes. Let me help you. Did you replicate my scenario? Did you try it with one License key for both a PC version and Mac version? Are you using a version of Acrobat DC purchased as part of a Creative Cloud subscription or did you use an individual Acrobat DC license?

What else do you need to look at this? I was told Adobe actually monitors this forum.
