Add option to use file name instead of TITLE in the Adobe Acrobat Reader

It is difficult to figure out which file is which when viewing multiple files with the same TITLE. The person using the reader is powerless to change the title.

PLEASE provide a global preference / setting in the Reader,preferences to have the Reader use the file name all the time.

We are delighted to share with you that Acrobat and Reader Desktop release for DC Continuous (20.012.20041) is Live now and this takes care of this Feature Request.

A new document preference is added to let you use the filename as the document title. By default, the preference is disabled. To enable the preference, go to Acrobat preferences, and click Documents in the left pane. Under Open Settings, select Always Use Filename As Document Title.

Please update your Acrobat/Reader (It should Auto update or you should do Help → Check for updates) and let us know your Feedback.

    This need to be fixed. It is not uncommon for me to have many pdfs open at the same time at my work. When 90% of them display my company's name as the title when I hover over them to see which one I need to select, it makes it challenging to select the correct pdf.

    It seems that the standard option when exporting Word and PowerPoint documents is to show the "Title" of the document in Acrobat Reader. Since essentially no-one using Word and PowerPoint seems to know about this, and also don't know what the Title of the document contains, the Title is often useless. Two examples of Titles from today; "PowerPoint-Präsentation" and "Titel der Präsentation mit optionaler zweiter Zeile". Obviously not very useful. Therefore, it would really be useful to be able to override the document setting, preferably permanently, in Adobe Reader. Thanks for listening.

    This make it very confusing when viewing multiple documents to determine which file in the Windows File Explorer I am viewing. Considering not using Adobe DC any more.

    The ability to show the Filename vs Title is a much-needed option. Especially as more and more people go paperless and download their statements, which, many times, use the same title. Please incorporate this feature soon. Thank you.

    Please add this feature. It's so frustrating when looking at several documents that all have the same title. Most of what I view are power point exports and they all have the title of "Powerpoint Document." There's not even an easy way to hover over the title and see the document name. This needs to be fixed.

    This only occurs with some pdf's where instead of the file name in the tab, the words "Your Document" is shown. This only started to happen as of January 1'st 2019. This does not happen with all files but only with Statement files from TD Waterhouse. Stop fixing what isn't broken.

    Kindly please stop going with the Microsoft mentality of "simplifying" products (hiding or removing useful features) for a "better user experience".

    Does not make sense! So no feature for free AA DC readers? But available in Pro... Time to use other PDF readers( many web browsers etc.)

    My tabs used to show the file name but not anymore. What happened? The tab should display the file name by default.

    From a standpoint of usability, Acrobat viewer is getting worse
