Ability to redact sensitive data from a signed document
Need to be able to remove sensitive information (such as tax file numbers) from forms and other documents after they have been signed but before they are uploaded into a CRM because of privacy issues. We still may need to send the signed original documents (i.e. no redaction) to product providers to be actioned.

100% agree - this is a big issue - especially in Australia. We are not wanting to ALTER what is in the document, just redact. There is no downside to that.

Yes, you can and ignore the comments saying you can't.
Step 1. Open the document, Click Edit on the top and then Redact Text and Images.
Step 2. Select the portion you want to redact. You may see it appearing black but the apply option is grayed out.
Step 3. Press Ctrl + P (Print command), next select your printer as Adobe Pdf and Click Print.
Step 4. Save and name the file.
There you have a redacted file.

This is more cumbersome crappy issues inside software that doesn't fit the average person's needs. So dumb that a signed document can't be redacted. It makes no sense. If I want a third party to view a document, but want to keep personal data hidden, for the sake of everyone involved, this should be possible. Really upsets me, that this very simple action cannot be performed. In the real world, there are hundreds of reasons why someone would want to redact portions of a document to send to a third party. SUCKS

I completely agree that thiis feature is needed and redacting the information before it is signed MAKES NO SENSE. Why would someone sign a document that is redacted? And many times the signor needs to provide the sensitive data...
For example, we have share purchase agreement where the purchaser needs to provide a tax id number so we can issue the stock. However, once the stock is issued, that tax id is no longer needed (and is very sensitive data) but the document still needs to be stored and accessed for auditing purposes, due diligence, etc. It would be very beneficial to be able to redact that sensitive information before the document is shared. -

Hi,
Redaction cannot be applied to the signed document, if needed you can apply redaction and then sign the document.
Thanks,
