2. Possibility to save PDF

   If I open a PDF through the File Explorer (File library) and still have the file chosen in File Explorer (Highlighted in Explorer) it is not possible to save the file after commenting or editing. (another user may have the file open ...)
   Please make it possible to save a PDF even if it is highlighted in File Explorer, since this a normal way of working with PDFs.

3. Highlight and Adding Text workflow is cumbersome

   I often highlight and add text to PDFs. The current workflow is cumbersome, especially when I need to switch from one feature to other.

   Given that it's a premium product, I find that there are just so many unnecessary toolbar options visible while the tools I need often require multiple clicks and cumbersome navigation.

   I often find myself hiding all toolbars left, top and right. Worst part is app doesn't remember my settings so I have to hide these toolbars everytime.

   Would be nice to have a student mode which provides a light mode version, allowing highlighting and adding/deleting text.

4. PAGES ON THE LEFT

   Previous versions of Acrobat had the ability to view page thumbnails on the left, and at the same time view and reply to comments on the right. The new version closes pages when opening comments, and closes comments when opening pages. Being able to quickly go from page to page to review comments is essential, and this disconnect from visual to text is extremely counterproductive.

5. Automatically open page thumbnails view when inserting pages

   I have to drag and drop alot of pages between pdfs. I keep forgetting to open the page thumbnails view in the new pdf before dragging selected pages to the new pdf. I have to stop go back, open pages thumbnail and then redrag the pages, which is unnecessary. If I hover over the page thumbnails icon in the new pdf with selected pages, it should just open in my opinion.

7. Users should be able to drag and drop text boxes (full of text) to combine them.

   When editing previously created PDFs, the user should be able to drag a text box full of text over another to combine them. The user should be prompted as to how the text should be joined. Options should include append at the end, insert at the beginning, and insert at the selected point. This should be able to be done across different pages and perhaps between documents.

8. Customize Mapping for Shortcuts

   I know I had this functionality in Adobe in 2014, but I was able to customize the mapping for keyboard shortcuts for tools I frequently used. In 2014 I mapped 'ctrl + shift + x' so that a text comment could be added wherever I clicked. I did turn on single-key accelerators, which is just 'x' as of recently in 2022. I just want to map my own shortcuts so that I can also create a text callout (for example, 'ctrl + shift + y'). I don't see text callout as a single-key accelerator option. I did use the cycle through drawing tools, but that is also not helpful because I frequently use the line, arrow, and rectangle tools. Using 'ctrl + d' takes too long to get back to the line tool if I am now using the rectangle tool (I clicked 'ctrl + d' over 8 times to get back to the line tool after using the rectangle tool. There is no key that allows me to reverse cycle to the line tool. The text callout is showing as a drawing tool, but it doesn't allow me to use it when I use 'ctrl + d'. I use that tool a lot so I would like the text callout feature to be used when cycling through drawing tools.

   I also wanted to have a shortcut for using a specific tickmark (PBC, Tickmark, N/A, TR, and PY), which I frequently use. This same thing applies to the Engagement tools (I mainly use "Agrees To" and "Footed").

   If I am stuck with using only the single-key accelerators, I would at least prefer to be able to move the first choice on my cycling through drawing tools to be the rectangle and the second choice to the line. I don't see this as an option. I also don't know if there is an option to delete the amount of drawing tools I cycle through so that only the rectangle, line, arrow, and text callout tools are available to cycle through. I don't need the octagon, cloud, or connected lines tools at all.

   Please help me with these and allow this functionality so I can be more efficient when editing PDFs. A ton of my work is slowed down by having to manually click through the tools each time I need to use a different tool.

10. Extract icon in Quick tool stop working

    I use to be able to click on the icon and the extract function would open. Now, when I click on it nothing happens. I did remove it and re-add it but it still not working.

11. Add a single-command function to create new layers for all pages in the same pdf file

    ask for one single command to create new layer(s) on all pages for note taking purposes. easy to toggle between showing and hiding the notes.

    Now users can only create new layer page by page by "importing layers" from files. Adobe should bring in the similar function available in Photoshop which allow users to create a blank layer(s) for all pages of a pdf file in a single command, and let users to enter notes, comments or other annotations on the selected layers. readers can then switch the layer between visible and hiding depending on the use scenario.

12. Custom Redaction Pattern Not Displaying In Acrobat

    I need to redact driver's license numbers from about 1200 PDF pages in Acrobat DC. There is no redaction pattern for driver's license numbers. I found tutorials on how to add custom redaction patterns. I created an updated version of the program's "SearchRedactPatterns" xml. I uploaded the updated version to replace the xml that was already there using a file path shown in multiple tutorials. There are no error messages associated with the new xml and I see no syntax errors in the coding that would prevent it from working. But the new custom pattern does not display in the dropdown menu for redaction pattern options in Acrobat DC. I'm not sure what could be wrong. Attached is a screen shot of the updated xml with the new pattern circled, the file path where I replaced the original xml (and saved a copy), the dropdown menu that displays available patterns, and the portion of the PDF with the Ohio license numbers (OLN) that need to be redacted. There are too many pages for this to be done manually so it is important that this function work as this is a legal matter.

    When adding layers to a PDF need an option to make the layer background transparent - this would allow a 'base' CMY' PDF to have multiple K (version) layers added - this would allow both registration and versioning to be verified

14. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix the ability to merge non-PDFs back into the program

    Until two weeks ago, I had the ability to merge non-pdf files into a pdf. That is no longer the case. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring this back. Having to convert each document into pdf before merging docs is a PAIN IN THE -SS

15. Bookmarking for Scandinavian letter 'ä' and 'ö' doesn't work in Finnish version

    It just leaves the spot empty where the 'ä' should be. Same goes for 'ö'. Havent tried 'å'. Tested with two Macs (OS's Monterey and Catalina) It's likely a bug.
    I can add the ä manually to a bookmark but the bookmarking process becomes slower. I think this is because the developers haven't used Finnish keyboard when coding.

16. Bug with function bookmrk.GetByTitle. It stoped working as it should on Windows 7

    function bookmrk.GetByTitle stoped working as it should. It worked properly early. We tried to reinstall then Acrobat, but it didn't help.
    Windows 7. Acrobat Pro DC 2021.007.20102
    Error in the following VBScript:

    It looks like a bug. The problem was solved by installing Acrobat Reader on the PC additionally to Acrobat Pro. We noticed, that the problem reproduced only on PC's with Pro version only.

17. Redact feature no longer functions properly

    I have hundreds of pages to redact in a scanned document and when I hit apply the screen over the document goes gray and a solid white box appears in the center. The white box usually give the options to use in the redaction process. I have to close Adobe with Task Manager. This is unacceptable. This is a recurring problem. I managed to clear it with difficulty a few weeks ago and the malfunction has returned. Please don't tell me to update. I checked. There are no outstanding updates. This is disappointing and annoying as I expected better from your company. I work for a large state agency that uses your product with a license. I've seen other people with the same complaint. This defect needs to be addressed.

20. Bugs and problems of editing

    Software language recognition supports a handful of languages and for example does not support Persian language, does not even recognize some advanced mathematics symbols and has difficulty displaying or editing; In addition, the internal converter of Adobe Acrobat Pro software has important and serious shortcomings, especially by converting PDF to Word without any problems.
