Use the Drawing Tools to highlight objects

I would like the addition of a checkmark within the drawings tool. I find the new highlighter blob tool kind of clunky, and I'd much prefer to use the drawing markup tools when I need to highlight objects. But right now, with the drawing markup tool I have to reduce the opacity, in order to get the object below to show through. I'd like the Drawing Markup Tools to actually be able to highlight the objects, using the highlight blending mode as the Highlighter tool does.

Please add a checkmark at the top of the color picker that for "Highlight"

    It is ridiculous that this feature is not available in Adobe. I used a feature like this in BlueBeam almost daily. It's been more than 4 years since this has been suggested and it needs to be revisited.

    I am trying out Bluebeam Revu and they offer this feature. That software is designed specifically to meet the needs of people in AEC.
