Dock Properties Bar
Through version 9, the properties bar was dock-able. Since X it is not, but it should be. Properties are always useful, it is annoying to have it floating over the document when I have toolbar space at the top of my screen sitting empty and gray and sad. I get that the properties toolbar is context sensitive so it will grow and shrink, but it was in 9 also. Please make all toolbars dockable!

Thanks Kelly! Claim your brownies if you want!
I so miss the properties bar. The Command toolbar takes forever tp load--waiting for it is so frustrating! And then to have the Text Properties drop down and cover the upper right corner of my pdf just as I'm trying to work there is really irritating.
Thanks for cluing me in to how to get that Properties toolbar so quickly. Now if they would just let us dock it somewhere. -

You can access the old Properties toolbar by Cmd + E on mac, or Ctrl + E on windows. Here is an article I wrote about it, which compares it to the new Color Picker tool. "The Case for Still Using the Deprecated Features in Acrobat, Part 1: The Properties Toolbar" http://documentgeek.blogspot.com/2016/11/the-case-for-still-using-deprecated.html

I've just been struggling to find out how to change the fill of a rectangle (using Comments tools) to "No fill". The visible tool to do this doesn't have an option of "No fill". After going on to the forum I was given the solution, which is to access the old Properties Bar. This is hidden away and very difficult to find unless someone tells you how. It should be more readily accessible.

Hello ,
Thanks for reporting your concern with us. Could you please share a screenshot of the exact location in Acrobat where you are facing the issue with the Add Text Toolbar / Floating Toolbar , so that we can assist you further in this.?
you can share the snapshot with me over the mail on ajain@adobe.com
Thanks

I and many others share your grievance about this David. Whoever decided to make the Properties Bar no longer dockable obviously wasn't an every-day user of Acrobat.

Enable the Add Text toolbar (formerly Typewriter?) to once again dock to a toolbar like it used to so it stays out of the way. I use it daily and the floating toolbar gets in the way. Wish you would stop changing things so much.
