Hello,
Please elaborate in detail what type of objects are you selecting and what editing operations you are trying to perform on them which is actually causing slow processing/crashing.

Adobe is not set up for detailed image editing. It is meant to only edit text and general objects like text + images. There comes a point where it just refuses to budge and crashes with no further change. For example, I select multiple objects and program says, No Response and not a single object is selected. It just gives up at that point.
