This issue has been resolved in latest release. Please update your Acrobat version.
I'm having a similar problem with version 2020.012.20043. Documents converted from Word (Mac version 16.40) look good on screen but when printed from Acrobat have an assortment of letters missing from headings and paragraphs that are part of a list. When printed from Preview they look fine.
I have the same problem with random "r" and "e" - using the latest version
I am having a similar problem with the letter F when exported from Cambria in word. Serious disaster.
Thanks for reporting the issue. We already have logged the issue for our 2019 December release.
You can expect the fix shortly with out next release.

Any progress on this? I have exactly the same problem when using Source Sans Pro and letter I
I'm also receiving the same problem with the letter i in Calbri
When is this going to be fixed? I'm continuing to have the same problems
Hello. I am also having an issue with the Cambria capital letter G, when using the "File - Save as ADOBE PDF" function from MS Word (MS Office Professional Plus 2016). I have Adobe Acrobat Pro installed on my system. Please advise as to whether any progress has been made on this issue. (Note that I do not have any issues with the other uppercase letters in Cambria, and all 26 lowercase letters convert just fine.)
Notice that the issue is within a custom heading style.
The same issue with another font and another letter.
Windows 8.1 x64 (6.3.9600)
Acrobat Pro DC 2019.012.20040
font Palatino Linotype
missing capital letter H
When Kerning for fonts is disabled the letter is dispölayed again.
As of the current version of Acrobat (19.012.20040), when exporting from Microsoft Word using the Acrobat plugin (either using “Save as Adobe PDF” from Word’s file menu or “Create PDF” from the Acrobat ribbon, tested repeatedly with various PDF exporter settings), every instance of capital “I” in the Source Sans Pro font is deleted from the document. Lowercase “i” and any accented variants in either upper or lower case are unaffected, but the capitalised letter is always removed during export.
(current workaround is a case-sensitive find/replace for all instances of “I” to the same character in Arial or a similar sans-serif font)

I have Appendix pages required for the reports I format that are formatted in Palatino Linotype font with a small cap effect in Microsoft Word. When I click the button to create the PDF, the letter "H" (noticed that one specifically, but could be others) is removed throughout the Appendix pages.
See attachment for the picture of how Adobe PDF's it. The Word document says "Appendix H: Site Photographs"
