Adobe is not opening paint program when I select "Edit Using" "Microsoft Paint".
It used to work fine until a couple of weeks ago. Now I get the following popup "Adobe Acrobat cannot start the image editing application you've specified. Verify the image editing application location on the Content Editing panel in Preferences". I did as instructed...and added the path to MS Paint program. I restarted the Adobe DC several times, but keep getting the same popup. Every time I go to check the Preferences, it shows the correct path. Adobe just fails to open MS Paint.
Happy to share that this issue has been addressed in the latest release (Sep 2022)

15h February 2024 - MS Paint does not seem to be available, and Content Editing in Preferences only allows change of font etc, no option to add MS Paint

I get the same message, but I am using Adobe Illustrator. Up until a few weeks ago it worked, now recently it doesn't, nothing in the help files. I have uninstalled several times and repaired installation at least 3x, but nothing helps. Is this a recent defect? Version 2023.003.20284

1. Install clasicc paint (https://win7games.com/#mspaint)
2. Open Adobe Acrobat
3. Open Preferences (ctrl + k)
4. Navigate to Content Editing
5. Select Image Editor - This will open a File Explorer Window
6. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Clasicc Paint\mspaint1.exe
7. Or you can Navigate to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.Paint_11XXXXXXXXXx64__XXXXXXXX\PaintApp (there will be many random strings of letters, just ensure it is the X64 folder)
8. OK -

I still get the same "cannot start" message using Adobe Nov 2022 (22.3.20282.0) and the newest Win 11 update (version 22H 22621.963). I reboot every morning.

Hey All, this issue popped up because Microsoft changed the default directory for Paint.exe in Windows 11.
1.Open File Explorer
2. Click on View at the top to open the drop down menu, select Show > Hidden Items
3. Open Adobe Acrobat as admin (right click Adobe shortcut and select 'Run as Administrator'
4. Open Preferences (ctrl + k)
5. Navigate to Content Editing
6. Select Image Editor - This will open a File Explorer Window
7. Navigate to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.Paint_11XXXXXXXXXx64__XXXXXXXX\PaintApp (there will be many random strings of letters, just ensure it is the X64 folder)
8. Double click on mspaint.exe to make the association link.
9. Verify you can launch Ms Paint from Adobe and edit properly. This may need to be repeated after every update to paint because this file directory looks to change each update, whereas it is always located in System32 in previous versions of Windows.

Need to fix this for paint not working in Adobe. I need to be able to draw in Windows 11 paint, but it no longer works after the 11 updates.
