"Merge to Adobe PDF" in Microsoft Word Filename Field
It would be very helpful if in the "Merge to Adobe PDF" function/plugin under Mailings in Microsoft Word to be able to specify a filename from the fields of my dataset. In other words, I would like to be able to have a column in my dataset that the plugin uses for naming files. It's horrible having to rename a hundred documents if you want to distribute PDFs.
Hi
Thanks for your feature request. We have taken a note of it and it will be prioritized based on other backlog items.
Thanks

Has there been a solution to naming the output file with the person's name

The automatic document naming for a Word mailmerge is lame. If I "Specify PDF file name"" as MERGE and ask for records 90 to 120, I get filenames
Merge901101.pdf....Merge9011010.pdf...Merge9011021.pdf. Why is "9011" being inserted into the filenames. Far more useful would be Merge90.pdf....Merge120.pdf which would at least tie text following the word "merge" to the record number in the database.
Also the preliminary step of "Verifying the Database" is way slower than prior methods of merging to individual documents. If one can guarantee that all documents are the same number of pages then first merging to 1 humongous Word File, Saving to PDF and then splitting using Acrobat ProDC is quicker, but is more steps. For anyone struggling go to this website for a Word Macro to make your life easier: https://imnoss.com/word-mail-merge-to-separate-pdfs/ -

There is an option to use Acrobat to split the merged document into the individual documents and give each pdf a name based on data from the document. However, this method is clunky, requires a number of extra steps that are not intuitive, and require a minimum level of Acrobat.

Great idea!
Also, it would be great to be able to send the PDF to multiple email addresses.
