Bad UI / bug: floating comments box text hidden with useless whitespace
The old version of Acrobat (Pro X) allowed users to put comments on various items in the document, such as highlighted text, etc. and move those boxes around on the document and change their size.
Now, Acrobat (Pro 2019 and onward) obscures that comment box with a reply field and totally wasted blank space beneath it (see attached). A user shouldn't have to click on a comment box to see the text that's there. This is yet another example of HORRID user interface changes. While reply-type commenting is a useful feature, destroying the original comment box's functionality for those that…

new acrobat
the new version of acrobat is terrible! you took away tools that made it easy to provide graphic markups to documents, you reversed the entire format of where toolbars are located so i have to retrain my brain on where to look for things. the arrow box and markup editing features are clunky, slow and difficult to manipulate. if it isn't corrected i'm reverting to bluebeam for good.

Revert to the previous version's commenting tools
Things change - as does the UI - that is fine. Professionals working with Adobe Pro have adapted before. However, the changes have DOUBLED the amount of time it takes to mark up a PDF and as far as I can see there is no solution for this.
We are not longer able to highlight text, start typing and have text automatically replaced. We also have to select the tool, then implement the mark up.
We are not able to pick a spot in the text, start typing and have text automatically inserted. We also have to select the tool,…

Comments Format Box cannot be moved and overlaps comments
The format box that appears when typing in a comment is not moveable and overlaps with my document - sometimes OVER the comment I'm trying to type. making it VERY difficult to edit text or use the PDF. Can't this be dockable? or at least Moveable??

Extract Highlighted Text into Word or PDF
Need the ability to extract ONLY the highlighted text and tables to a word or PDF document for easy reference. Students studying will benefit from an abridged version of the PDF to only review highlighted notes from their PDF.

BUG: Recording audio comments
Acrobat Pro, Windows:
1) The "Record Audio" Comment option doesn't work well: a really loud background noise is always present, and I have to massively strain my voice to beat it. (If I forget to strain it, the recording has a fade-in effect where the recorded sound is inaudible at first, but then gets better a few seconds in.)
This is not a hardware issue - tried different laptops & different microphones (internal and external). Searching the forum, I found that this issue has existed for more than a decade (https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/is-there-a-way-to-fix-the-static-noise-problem-in-record-audio-comments-in-acrobat/m-p/14383077#M448422), please fix it.2) Also, whenever a…

comment stuck exit
When you want to make comments to PDF, you click the relevant comment button and make a comment (Box or line or highlight etc.), however the comment feature is stuck and next time you click anywhere, the Adobe keep on inserting comments, until an Esc button is clicked. Previous version was better where you click comments and you can put comment and carry on reading the pdf content. New feature is bit frustrating

Reduplicating Comments at Random
The latest Acrobat is TERRIBLE!! Not only are old tools missing (page scroll is the worst!) but after adding a comment to page 1 of a document I was reviewing, I find it has also been posted on pages 2, 3, 5, 8 and on...
Attempts to revise the text of a comment I added a few minutes earlier are thwarted. Acrobat no longer allows a user to revise their own entries??
As I read the comment in the forum, there seems to be enough frustration with what this version has done, that simply providing access to download and use…

Formatting with a comment lost while editing a comment
This has been observed after Adobe Acrobat Pro was recently updated.
Why should the intial formatting be lost when we edit a comment? So, let's say if we have some portions of the comment in bold, it will automatically become 'unbold' when we start editing the comment. We then have to go back to the comment (after saving because autosave is now gone!) and redo all the formatting that was done earlier. This bug surely needs to be fixed as formatting within a comment is crucial if it is indicative of a pattern within a PDF file.3 votes -
Autosave not available
Can we please have the autosave function back?
It is unfortunate that the Autosave feature is no longer available in the latest update of Adobe Acrobat Pro. We need to click 'Post' each time we even start writing a comment using annotations. The total time to annotate a PDF is now longer because of this update, which affects productivity. You may even loose your work if you forget to save each time you type any text using an annotation tool (sticky notes, comment feature).1 vote -
Horizontal Toolbar Orientation
The new toolbar isn't great but I can live with it. However, it FREQUENTLY protrudes over the document when you use a tool with a submenu or the type tool with the font and color options. This is very bad, especially when adding a comment in the margins. Since it is possible to move the toolbar, why not make it possible to orient it horizontally at the top or bottom of the page? That way, it won't obstruct lines in the middle of the document that happen to be close to the edge.

Adobe Collaborate: stuck on 'Loading Shared Comments'
When I open my shared PDF, it says 'Loading Shared Comments' forever. I know for a fact that there are no more than four comments in this PDF but I can't access them.

Urgent Issue with Commenting Password Protected PDFs in Adobe Acrobat Mobile
Dear Adobe Support Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I would like to report a major issue with Adobe Acrobat Pro related to password-protected PDFs and the inability to use commenting and highlighting features on mobile devices. This issue is affecting a significant portion of users, as mobile devices and tablets have become the primary means of accessing PDF files.
Issue Description:
When a PDF file is password protected using Adobe Acrobat Pro, and the "commenting and highlighting" option is set to "enabled" in the document's security settings during its creation, there is a critical problem. While users…2 votes -

Review functions
In the previous version, I could efficiently conduct a text review by simply selecting the text and entering the new content to initiate a substitution. However, with this latest version, I find myself compelled to navigate to the cumbersome panel on the left and manually choose the function for EACH text substitution. This change has significantly impacted productivity. Kindly reconsider and revert to the previous functionality for a more streamlined experience.

Straight line with highlighter and drawing tools
Make straight lines with the highlight text tool and drawing tools by holding shift, just like holding shift with the draw line tool. PLEASE.
Maybe also give the highlighter the clickable option to choose between freehand highlight, straight line highlight, and recognizable text; and lock the option preference until we manually change it.3 votes -
Bug: Diacritics of user name get replaced by 2 quotation marks
The user name seems to draw its data from the Adobe account on record. There my name has an accent. In the Identity section in the Acrobat settings I entered my name without an accent as this obviously still leads to some display issues.
Maybe this could be changed so that the display name for the comment is taken from the “Name” in the Identity settings.
There are so many names with diacritics worldwide and they probably get all spelled in a wrong way.

Changed Screen Format
Your Adobe Acrobat Reader software update to a new screen format SUCKS! This involuntary change is NOT WELCOMED!!! This change is to make using your software more efficient for users I assume. Well, the exact opposite is happening for me. I'm looking around for the old tool setting icons I had a the top of my screen in the previous version for quick & easy access to them and I cannot find them because to deleted some of them. So, now I do not have the tools I need to efficiently use this program. Great Job, NOT! :(

Text replacements
Mac OS offers the option of using text abbreviations to insert several words or entire sentences (text replacements). For example, "#--" becomes "delete hyphen". Acrobat used to understand and implement these abbreviations. Since the version from December 2023, this no longer works. Please restore the function.

New comment issue as of 1/4/24
As of Thursday 1/4/24, sticky notes vanish as soon as they are entered, and if I type more than word in a highlight pop-up box, the font downsizes from my norm.
