It may be due to my individual environment, but I posted this because reinstalling Acrobat Pro did not improve it.

As of April 28, 2024, Acrobat Pro is up to date.
    I am using MacOS 12.7.4 / MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021).

    Thank you.

  2. Read aloud for comments section.

I use the generative AI frequently and often times the information is much more succinct and comprehensive than my actual lecture slides.
I usually drop comments with the AI information around the lectures to fill in gaps that are missing.
I love the idea of being able to passively learn via read aloud on long commutes to and from Uni. But most pdfs/ lectures are obviously not meant for that. However, I have found that AI generated information reads perfectly. Would be amazing to have and since it is already available for the pdf itself,…

  3. I routinely check, review, mark up records. I also use the markups to keep track of changes. Word documents are unacceptable because I need to keep a permanent record that work was done.

PDF Exchange editor has a tool that lets me draw a polygon, and set the color blend mode so the polygon acts like a hilighter. I can use this to flag something that is an issue, use different colors to identify the type of issue, and whether or not it has been addressed/resolved.

Adobe acrobat lets me twiddle the opacity, but this makes reading the file difficult,…

  4. Recently a bug appeared in PDF-commenting.
Suppose you have "1-2" and want to change it to "1 and 2". The way that used to work was this: select the dash and insert a comment with replace text " and " (with blanks before and after). And it worked - importing and applying it in Indesign resulted "1 and 2", as expected. But now those blanks disappear as soon as posting the comment in Acrobat (and it does the same in Acrobat Reader too), so the end result is "1and2", which is definitely wrong!
And if you have to correct "twowords",…

  5. Hi. I've been using Acrobat for my work for around three years. I basically translate comics from Japanese into English and I switch input methods a lot between Japanese, Korean and Swedish. I haven't had any problems with the app before but since an update perhaps 3-5 months ago, Acrobat keeps crashing when I'm writing a comment in a PDF and change the input method while the text marker is in the comment input box. It happens quite a lot. Usually, only the last two or three comments disappear, but it is quite annoying and when that loading wheel thingy…

  6. When typing in a comment box, spelling is checked immediately, which makes so the current word being typed gets marked as an error (i.e. with a red underline). After finishing typing a word, the immediate checking seems to disappear, so a correctly typed word stays marked as incorrect for a lingering time. So it leads to a waste of time by drawing attention to false errors

Error checking should wait until each word is fully typed.

  9. When highlighting pdf documents the highlighted section will sometime flash to that from another page while i am highlighting. this is very frustrating as cannot see what I am actually highlighting. once i finish, the original text reappears. this has happened on multiple documents on and off. Never happened on the prior version

  10. Truncated files that I now need to recreate - I will be looking for another editor as this update is forcing me to recreate files in a UI where the menuing system is illogical and clunky. You took a well put together product and ruined it.

  11. I probably don't use this feature like many do, but I used to use the 'comment' feature on my touchscreen to annotate notes with a stylus. As a teacher, I like to project the notes I've typed and write on screen with the pen. With the new update, it's hard to find all of the controls to do this. I've managed to find some, but it's not a straightforward.

  12. Acrobat Pro, Windows:

    1) The "Record Audio" Comment option doesn't work well: a really loud background noise is always present, and I have to massively strain my voice to beat it. (If I forget to strain it, the recording has a fade-in effect where the recorded sound is inaudible at first, but then gets better a few seconds in.)
This is not a hardware issue - tried different laptops & different microphones (internal and external). Searching the forum, I found that this issue has existed for more than a decade (https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/is-there-a-way-to-fix-the-static-noise-problem-in-record-audio-comments-in-acrobat/m-p/14383077#M448422), please fix it.

    2) Also, whenever a…

  13. I highly dislike the new layout. I have used the "insert (arrow, text box, check mark, etc.)" for years and years. Now I cannot even ADD comments and arrows, etc. I can only "SEND" for comments. I have gone around in circles and even Googled trying to find where the "arrows" are now. I am finding no answers. SO frustrating. I have found nothing that is an improvement, It is just rearranged on the page with things now no longer accessible. Please help!

  14. This is the worst pdf editor I have ever set my hands on. The simple issue of crossing out parts of a page TO MAKE IT NOT TRANSPARENT takes way too much effort with this useless tool. Shame on you for charging money for this.

  15. I regularly highlight documents with numerous colors based on a key. It would be helpful if the comment pane showed the color of the highlight in lieu of the generic grayed out highlight icon. It would make perusing large documents with significant highlights easier to peruse.

    Thanks!

  16. When you want to make comments to PDF, you click the relevant comment button and make a comment (Box or line or highlight etc.), however the comment feature is stuck and next time you click anywhere, the Adobe keep on inserting comments, until an Esc button is clicked. Previous version was better where you click comments and you can put comment and carry on reading the pdf content. New feature is bit frustrating

  17. Please add more color options and schemes for highlighting and freehand drawing in Adobe PDF (for desktop and iPad). As of now, there are only nine (9) colors with varying shades. I'm a lawyer who uses a bunch of different highlighter colors on hard copies (orange, pink, etc.). To switch to paperless, I'd need these color options/schemes.

  18. Dear Adobe Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I would like to report a major issue with Adobe Acrobat Pro related to password-protected PDFs and the inability to use commenting and highlighting features on mobile devices. This issue is affecting a significant portion of users, as mobile devices and tablets have become the primary means of accessing PDF files.

    Issue Description:
When a PDF file is password protected using Adobe Acrobat Pro, and the "commenting and highlighting" option is set to "enabled" in the document's security settings during its creation, there is a critical problem. While users…

  19. When you select text, the selected text must be displayed in the comments list. Without this function it is pointless to work with text. Look how it's done in Google Books.

  20. I used to be able to click on the spot of the text I wanted to add text, and I could just start typing; the comment would be created automatically; similarly, I could select text and just start typing for the replace text function. Now I have to make an extra click, on the toolbar menu. For manuscript editing, this adds annoying time.
