1. Compare bug when compare to Acrobat 7

   We do the compare output with Acrobat DC latest Release with Acrobat 7. and our comparision finding are listed in the spread sheet "Compare report case study_V1".

   we find 4 major issues. in Acrobat DC when compare to 7

3. Tool to copy formatting from one phrase to another in Acrobat Pro DC

   For example, if we type in text in the pdf using the "Add Text" tool which uses a text box in which you can type.
   Now lets say this text box is quite big and you have typed a lot of stuff into it at different times.
   Suppose you want the formatting of the last paragraph to match the formatting of the first paragraph out of a total of 8 paragraphs (all paragraphs are in the same box).
   Now instead of matching the two paragraphs in formatting by manually selecting Text font, Text size, Bold, Italics, Text colour, Line spacing etc, you would want to use a tool which directly allows you to copy formatting from the first paragraph and paste it to the last (copying formatting from one phrase and pasting it to another phrase in the same text box or lets say in some other text box as well).
   Just like we use in Microsoft Word. Acrobat Pro DC doesn't currently have this tool. I would like to request the developers to add this tool since its a very basic much needed feature.

4. Adobe is not opening paint program when I select "Edit Using" "Microsoft Paint".

   It used to work fine until a couple of weeks ago. Now I get the following popup "Adobe Acrobat cannot start the image editing application you've specified. Verify the image editing application location on the Content Editing panel in Preferences". I did as instructed...and added the path to MS Paint program. I restarted the Adobe DC several times, but keep getting the same popup. Every time I go to check the Preferences, it shows the correct path. Adobe just fails to open MS Paint.

   Happy to share that this issue has been addressed in the latest release (Sep 2022)

5. Replacing XMP metadata is NOT absorbed into the PDF document.

   Unsuccessfully tried to change/modify the advanced metadata 'PRODUCER' of a PDF from Acrobat Pro DC. I would not accept the revised xmp file as a replacement.

6. Key Command for Edit

   Literally every text writing/editing application I use on my Mac allows me to use the key command "Command-E" to Edit whatever I'm working on in that program. But, for some utterly unfathomable reason, Acrobat Pro DC lacks this basic, and otherwise, universal function. Please address this glaring oversight immediately.

   Also, I used to be able to access menu functions in Adobe Acrobat Pro using the macro editor Keyboard Maestro, but those macros no longer work in Pro DC. So that's something else you could look at and fix as soon as humanly possible.

   Thank you for your prompt attention to this very urgent issue.

7. AcrobatDC crashes when saving with "Prepare form" tool enabled

8. AcrobatProDC - Cropping PDF via dialog does not work

   opening context menu by clicking on the site overview. choosing > crop pages > dialog opens > choosing framesettings: trimbox (keep proportion), change page size: standard size = none, page area: all pages > clicking OK > nothing happened!!! (attached PNGs show german screens)

10. Preflight library and profile import and export dialogs inacessible

    When trying to import or export a preflight library or a profile inside a library, the "file open" dialog does not open and instead throws a warning messagebox "Error in OS call SHGetFolderPath: -2147024829". See attached screenshot. This error of course hints to something in the underlying OS, but should be handled differently by Acrobat. For example, by instead opening a "file open" dialog in some default or safe directory instead.

    I tried removing the registry key HKCU\Software\Adobe and its subkeys while Acrobat was closed. Then trying again, but it did not make any difference.

    Probably not fully reproducable on every computer. Might be reproducable by importing a preflight profile, then removing the directory it was in, and trying to import a preflight profile again.

    OS: Windows Server 2016, up to date as of 2021/01/21 (day of posting this issue).

11. Acrobat Pro DC – Text Watermark Font Bug

    Mac OS X 10.13.6
    Acrobat Pro DC – Version 2021.001.20138

    Inserting a text watermark using the Helvetica Neue font enters a series of boxes instead of the text. All weights and slopes affected except, bizarrely, the ‘Thin’ weight.

    Inserting text using the Helvetica Font produces the error message “The font ‘Helvetica,Xxxx’ contains an invalid encoding. Some characters may not display correctly”. This error message appears on saving the PDF and every time it is opened in Acrobat Reader DC.

    Both fonts are system fonts and work satisfactorily in all applications (e.g. InDesign, Word) including Acrobat Pro DC, but not as a watermark. The fonts check-out as undamaged, and are not in conflict with any other fonts.

    This bug is duplicated on more than one installation of Acrobat Pro DC on separate Macs.

    It looks suspiciously like a bug.

12. Some text changes colour after 3 days = maybe something to do with the Bold selection?

    We had to make some urgent edits in a large PDF on Friday when I went to look through again on the monday some of the text looked like it was missing - it is there but invisible until I turn off the Bold Selection in the edit panel- then it shows up - and if I rebold it stays... This is the second document that it has happened and we are making quick edits to make a deadline by using the edit panel in Acrobat (this is instead of going back to Indesign/Word to make the changes and replacing the pages required- which I will do in the future as I can have this happening for tender work)
    I am checking the embeding feature and think it is because the font may not be embedded - but why does it stop working after not being opened for 3 days?
    I have sent one of the cover pages to see how it is coming out - the blue text was added in the PDF after (all the rest came from the Indesign file) It was perfect on the Friday . opening and closing.But today it was corrupted and had to be reset

16. Quick Tools overflow menu

    Some tools are not usable when accessed from the overflow ("meatballs") menu of the Quick Tools toolbar. Tools such as Change color, Change line thickness, and Text Properties are not usable if they are in the overflow menu (because the window size is too small to fit all the Quick Tools).

19. Steuerelemente bei Video (Rich Media) funktionieren nicht

    Da mein Video in einer aus PowerPoint exportiertem PDF nicht abspielbar ist (mangels Flash-Support) habe ich das Video nachträglich über das "Rich-Media"-Werkzeug in das PDF eingefügt. So ist es zwar abspielbar aber bei den Steuerelementen lässt sich nichts einstellen. Ob ich dort "keine" oder "Alle Steuerelemente" auswähle ändert nichts an der Darstellung. Es werden keine Steuerelemente angezeigt. Auch das Feld mit der Farbauswahl lässt sich nicht anklicken. So kann man das Video im PDF mit einem Klick darauf zwar starten, aber nicht mehr anhalten oder erneut starten.

20. Create Link should default to NEXT not HELP

    When I add links to a PDF, I do NOT need help EVERY single time I create a link; it would be MUCH more convenient if the default selection were NEXT, not HELP. In this manner, I could use enter to select next, whereas now, when I inadvertently click enter thinking it should be the default, it seems to be common sense - oh, wait, that no longer exists, my bad. I guess never mind, no commonsense, why bother, right?
