  2. What happened to Buttons?

Prepare Forms has always had a 'Button' tool, which could have simple actions applied to it [eg. reset form, submit form]. I eventually found it in the 'Rich Media' tools, but there is no longer an option to assign actions. This is a fundamental function of preparing forms in Acrobat. Please put it back in the Prepare Forms tools and even if it's going to stay in the Rich Media tools – what's the point of having buttons that don't DO anything?

  3. disable the comma typing

I created a form and needed to disable the comma typing, because when I sent the pdf to another computer that didn't have Adobe, the sum field gave an error due to the comma. For some reason, he interpreted the comma as if it were a zero, so the sum went super wrong.

  4. date picker

I have created a pdf fillable form and the date picker and the signature box only work when I open with Acrobat. Do these not work in Chrome or Edge? I don't want people to have to use special software to fill in the form.

  5. Bug: "No error" message when viewing XFA forms

In version 2021.001.20138 it's impossible to open XFA-based forms (sample attached).

    1. Open any XFA form.

    2. All you get is an modal message "No error". When you click [OK] then you'll see the "Please wait …" shell PDF of the XFA form, which is generally only shown by PDF viewer that don't support XFA.

    3. Tested on Windows 10

    4. Display contens of dynamic XFA form

    5. Nonsense error message "No error." and display of shell PDF.

The problem is the same in Acrobat Reader DC.

  6. Can we open a PDF file like a code file, the way we used to open our code file in gvim

Can we open a PDF file like a code file, the way we used to open our code file in gvim ie same file can be open in two/three tabs. (like seeing function decl. & it's call?) This would be very useful to read in a large PDF file, such as reading a sub chapter on page number 50 and referencing page number 225 for further explanation.

  7. Reader 2021.001.20138 suddenly running form javascripts incredibly slowly and freezing

A complex form that ran fine under older versions of reader, is now intermittently running some of the onboard javascripts incredibly slowly and appearing to the user as freezing (Not Responding).
This does not always occur, and occurs during different operations (using different document level scripts).
I am using Windows 10 Pro 19041.804 (most recent) and have experienced it on Reader 2021.001.20138 32bit and 64bit versions.

  8. "Use Current Properties As New Defaults" needs to set defaults for all future doc form field properties. (this seems like a bug)

I need to be able to set the default properties on form fields so that all form fields created in the future --- whether by me manually or automatically by way of Acrobat's Prepare Form > Scan feature --- reflect the "default" property settings, both in the current doc and in all future docs. Default means default.

Let's review the current flow here:

    1) I open a PDF doc that I want to convert to a fillable-form.
    2) I choose Tools --> Prepare Form
    3) I accept the option to scan for all form-field auto detection.
    4) All form fields…

  9. Headers NOT populating in the following pages

We created a PDF form with headers. The data that the users enter in the header fields are not getting propagated to the header on the other pages.
We are able to see that the headers work fine when viewed/edited through EDGE browser & Chrome browsers. Screenshots of these are attached below.

  11. Form filling via Python libraries

Adobe Customer Care recommended I post the request here. It might not be a problem with Acrobat per se, but a lot of people seem to have the same problem. Standard Python libraries for automating the filling of fields work fine--when the pdf is opened with some other viewers. But in Acrobat the field content does not display until the field is clicked. Marked checkboxes are also not displaying. The issue is explained partly at the links below, but solutions do not seem to be reliable:

    https://github.com/pmaupin/pdfrw/issues/84

No matter how I put the info the simplified field notation I can not get the calculation to run. Tried adding a new text box, changing the names to be one continuous name, minimizing the name, and etc. I need help in to determine what's wrong so I can use Forms in DC Pro 2020.013.20074.18474.

  15. Set Several Field Formats At Once

When creating a form that has many field that need to be formatted as "Number" I'd like to be able to select many fields at once and apply the number format property. I cannot do that now and it requires a lot of extra steps.

  16. Make Adobe Document Services PDF Embed API work for checkboxes

https://github.com/adobe/pdf-embed-api-samples is basically UNUSABLE.....when you have two checkboxes ( yes and no ) ... you give them both the same name and have different 'export' values so they act like radio buttons...check one, the other un-checks....however, in this API, when you check one....all checkboxes with the same name also check.....UNUSABLE....how did this get by QA?

  20. Bug - Prepare Form properties dialog

I'm editing 2 different PDF forms, last years an internal PDF form created from external source pdf and this years external source PDF with changes converted to a PDF form.

    1. I can't open the 2 forms in separate instances of PDF form editor, or at least it is not ready apparent on how to do this.

    2. Being that I'm unable to open the forms in 2 separate instances, I open both PDFs in same instance and pull one of the tabs to another monitor.
2a. Each time I click on the properties menu item, the dialog box is shared by…
