Edit default split pages number or set it permanently to 1
We often need to split a document into a single file per page. We almost NEVER split a document by every two pages.
Having to edit this number each time is redundant. I would like the option to either edit the default "split by" setting (and additionally the output settings) or alternatively have the default be 1 page.

9/26/23, and still not fixed. Not only can the default not be changed, but adding the split tool to the toolbar only gets you a pretty icon there, as clicking it does nothing.

Hello,
Just to add more details.
Now suppose if you are splitting with 'x' value set as Split by number of pages value, then when next time time you try to split again, it will by default show that 'x' value.Let me know if that is not the behavior with you for latest release of Acrobat DC.
If not, please share the build number and OS details. -

You claim this is implemented but you don't tell us how to change it. I have spent too long looking for this answer.

I have this same issue in Adobe Acrobat XI -- and I would love to be able to have it set to 1 unless asked otherwise. Has this ever been fixed?

Agreed. Even after checking for updates, the default Split by Number of Pages remains at 2 even though I changed it to 1.

Hi Gaurav, I saw your note about the Acrobat update. My acrobat tells me it's up to date (Help->Check for updates) but the split page feature you described isn't working. Any ideas?

Thank you Gaurav, this is great news :)

With the latest release of Acrobat on 14th May 2019, this issue has been addressed.
Now if you change the value and execute Split, we'll store the value and use that the next time. The fix we've made is to keep the value sticky across sessions. If your product is not already updated, you can manually do so from within the product. Click on the menu Help-> Check for updates.

Just the option to change the default number would be good. PLEASE!

if it helps at all, I'd like to express again the great need for a default value of 1 for splitting pages, because as some other have mentioned, I also always split in 1

This is not a big deal. Programmer goes into code, replaces 2 with 1. Distribute update.
Whether you want to add an editable default option is another thing, but it seems everyone splits pages into single (1) pages. -

This was logged as an issue in May 2017, has this been addressed at all by Adobe??? What was the programmer thinking when they set the default to 2? because it makes absolutely no sense at all. May we please have an update as to the status of this request? Thank you.

Yes, this is incredibly annoying. Ever time I want to split a document into single pages (which is frequently) I have to change the number. I have never split a document into 2 pages, nor any other multiple. Please make the default 1 page and perhaps allow uses to change the default. So, if somebody always want sot split into 5 pages, they should be able to make that their default. It is really annoying when programmers make software do the thing that they think users might want to do rather than letting users choose.

+1 here... or more like +1,000. Breaking into 2 pages makes sense ONLY if you have scanned front and back. I am currently going through 8-10,000 scanned pages, and easily 95% of them are single page scans. Clicking the "1" instead of 2 is minor, but having to do it over and over and over and over and over and OVER again is getting old!

I have the same issue. Actually we have never wanted to break a file into 2 page groups. Clearly 1 page should be the default.

Hi there. I'll second that request. To be able to default the label to 'p' (for page) in the options would also be great as we never use 'part.'
