Bug report - pdf won't open with Acrobat DC pro but opens properly with reader
I am trying to open a pdf form from the Gov. of Canada using Acrobat Pro DC but nothing happens. After double clicking the file, I can see a background process (in task manager) but it doesn't show any activity and the interface doesn't show even after several minutes of waiting. I have tried restarting / repairing installation but same result. Any other document works fine. I have tried opening the same document on another machine with Acrobat reader DC and it opens properly in a few seconds. I have attached the document as well as a screenshot of the property/security.
Win10 x64 Ent 1703
Acrobat 2017.009.20044
Thanks for reporting. Our team is looking into it.

It's been a while and a few versions later it looks like it's been fixed. I have tried with the original pdf I had trouble with and it's working fine with Acrobat DC and Acrobat Reader DC both version 2019.012.20040, different machines with either Acrobat DC or Reader DC installed, not both)
Ron: I have tried your link as well and I was able to open the document properly with both version, Acrobat and Acrobat Reader. Do you have the 2 versions installed on the same machine (Acrobat and Acrobat Reader)? If so, try opening the file on a machine where only Acrobat Reader is installed and see if it makes a difference.

Surely this has been fixed by now?
I'm having a similar issue (will attach file later as I'm on my mobile and can't even dl it) but in this case Acrobat Reader 11 will open the doc (also from the Canadian Gov't - it's the new required standard Residential Tenancy Agreement that allows form filling) but Acrobat Reader DC won't open it (fully). The message when attempting to open it in DC is:
"The document you are trying to load requires Adobe Reader 8 or higher. You may not have the Adobe Reader installed or your viewing environment may not be properly configured to use Adobe Reader.
For information on how to install Adobe Reader and configure your viewing environment please see http://www.adobe.com/go/pdf_forms_configure."Note - The .ca forms site indicates you must use Acrobat Reader 10 or later vs what's imbedded in the document.
DC is clearly later/newer than Reader 8/10/11 and seems to be a bug in DC. Perhaps presentation of compatibly? I have not looked at the metadata in the file.
