Insufficient data for image in Internet Explorer
I am working on a software that generates PDF using ABBYY FineReaderEngine 11 and presents those PDFs to the users in Internet Explorer. The image compression algorithm used is JP2K.
Some of the PDFs generated are sending the error "Insufficient data for image". The problem can occur on very precise document (as for the example file attached), but also in a random way on other non specific documents. It is really hard to determine if it is created by a certain type of document.
Our users are using Adobe Acrobat Standard 11.0.20 with Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.18665CO (Adobe plugin version : 11.0.14.16)
I tried the last DC version of Adobe Acrobat and the last Acrobat Pro 2017, the problem is the same.
The only solution I found, and that seems to work, is downgrading to the 11.0.18 version of Acrobat. But this not a good solution.
Also, an other PDF reader like FoxitReader, works with no problem at all.
Can someone from Adobe tell me if the problem is a file specific problem, or a real bug in adobe reader ?
What has changed since the 11.0.18 version that generated this very annoying problem ?
Thank you in advance.
Due to lack of response we are closing this.

I experienced this error too. My successful workaround is to open the PDF using Chrome (I pasted the full path of the file into the address bar). I was then able to create a workable version by printing to Adobe PDF (available because I have Adobe Acrobat Pro installed).

Hi Maxime,
We tried with latest Reader for the file you shared, but didn't received any error prompt. Maybe the IE process sometimes in your machine runs out of memmory. You can try enabling 'Enhanced protected mode' in IE and let us know the behavior.
Steps:-
1. Open IE > Settings > Internet Options
2. Go to Advanced tab
3. Go down to security section
4. Enable "Enable Enhanced protected mode"
5. Enable "Enable 64-bit process Enhanced protected mode" (if this option is available)
6. Restart IE and try to load the PDF again.Regards

Hi Anurag,
Thank you for your reply.
My problem comes only when the file is oppened by IE using the Acrobat plugin.
It appears only with some specific files and also randomly. I had already attached an exemple file in my firts report.
The problem is replicable with Acrobat DC and 2017.Thank you for your help.
