Acrobat Pro DC (AcroCEF) eating up 21GB of memory and CPU time on Mac
When macs left unattended and Acrobat pro running the application increasing consumes CPU time and memory. Coming in the next morning my machine is extremely slow to respond. This is happening on two mac machines I use.. one Sierra 10.12.6 and one High sierra. Both machine regularly use MS office applications and Saffari and Chrome browsers. Both utilize Mcafee. Acrobat will not close unless being forced to do so.

Apparently this problem is fixed in the latest update which you need to add manually under Acrobat help - check for updates. The update you need is:
Version 2019.008.20080

So this was upgraded to the Engineering team in January 2018 and it is now almost December 2018 and no action. Means Acrobat is basically useless on my system!

We worked for a couple of weeks without the Acrobat memory problem. But unfortunately the problem is 100% back.
I give up hope from a solution from Adobe. I guess the only solution is to make a new user account. <lot of work!> -

Finally! the memory problem on 2 of our Mac systems are gone. I've installed the 2 latest updates for Acrobat Pro. I'm running on version 2019.008.200.71.
I've waited a whole year for this! -

Has any solution been found? I had acrobat at 62 GB of memory use and climbing the other day.
I am on a mac. Running 10.11.6. I have the Pitstop plug-in installed. Problem started after apple update from 10.11.5 to 10.11.6 -

I had been having the same problem on my iMac. After about 2 months of quitting and restarting Acrobat I took drastic measures. I finally fixed the issue by uninstalling acrobat and removing all files associated with acrobat or pdfs from the application and library folders. The only thing I could think of that caused the problem is left over files from previous versions.

Well sorry Greg, Time Machine isn't the answer for me. Turned it off, disconnected drive and after about an hour Acrobat had gobbled up 2 GBs of ram and turned my mac into a slug. Another side effect of this is it destroys my sidebar in all application windows and forces a restart. Fine when I'm in the finder, but any application looses all Favorites which I use to hop around shares and other stuff.
Adobe... you're going to fix this when?

Greg! You just might be onto something! I've had my Time Machine drive unmounted, Time Machine set to off and haven't run into a problem with Acrobat. Will test more tomorrow but thinking we need to set up a GoFundMe page so users that supply solutions quicker than Adobe techs can be rewarded for their efforts!

May be affected by Time Machine. As it seems not to occur as often when I don't have my backup drive plugged in.

I have been having the same issues. IT is very frustrating working on files and having to quit and restart multiple time daily.

Version of Acrobat Pro DC is the latest at this time but this experience did occur with older version as well. Machine does not experience slow response issue if acrobat is not loaded.
