Adobe Acrobat DC Search index fail
Adobe Acrobat DC (21.001.20135)
Yesterday 11/2/21, my Adobe Acrobat DC pro stopped searching indexes I have made. I Opened an index file (*.pdx) which I built using Adobe Acrobat DC pro a couple of weeks previous and when you search for a term, no results are found.
So I re-built the index again (~8 mins duration) and the index was then able to return hits on search terms. It worked throughout the day yesterday with no problems.
This morning, I opened the index again (the one I re-built on 11/2) and again it doesn't find any results on search terms that were giving me hits yesterday after I re-built it.
There is something wrong with Adobe. I am not sure if it has updated recently? The small Adobe symbol at the top left corner of the software used to be black, but now is red? Suggesting a change or update to the software.

Hi Aakash,
I have tried your suggested work around and it does indeed work.
Thanks for that. The Acrobat reader I had installed on my machine was working ok. A double click on the pdx file brought up the search dialog and it worked.
A question about the adobe symbols.... As mentioned in the first post, mine used to be black in the top corner of the screen and on the task bar. But now it is red. Is this from an update or a downgrade?
It now says 32 bit version. Can I force it to the 64bit version? The installer didn't give me a choice. (IT have been un-installing and re installing Acrobat to try and fix my problem, before I noticed that you had replied). Will re-install reader (IT un-installed it to see if that would fix the DC pro version) and use that too.
Hey, last point. How come your replies to my bug post didn't get emailed? I had to come looking here to get the answer.
Regards,
Graham.
