Review functions
In the previous version, I could efficiently conduct a text review by simply selecting the text and entering the new content to initiate a substitution. However, with this latest version, I find myself compelled to navigate to the cumbersome panel on the left and manually choose the function for EACH text substitution. This change has significantly impacted productivity. Kindly reconsider and revert to the previous functionality for a more streamlined experience.

Reinstate replace text by simply highlighting and typing
One used to be able to insert comment to replace text by simply highlighting/selecting it and start typing. Please reinstate! Now I must right-click and select "Add note to replace text". I use this feature a lot when going through my students' work or proofreading, often hundreds of times in a day, and it is taking much longer than it used to with 3 times as many mouse clicks (not good for my arm!).

highlight and comment should not be part of the document protection
The purpose of the Portable Document Format (PDF) is to provide a way to share documents in a format that remains consistent and unaltered. I understand that there are cases where the document creator may want to restrict certain actions, such as printing or copying content, especially when the document is intended to be viewed only on a screen. These restrictions can be appropriate and serve specific needs.
However, I don't think the creator should prevent commenting or highlighting. Highlighting and commenting are basic tools used to notify the creator about proposed changes or to propose courses of action based…

Fix how commenting or typing text into document works
I type comments onto my student's pdf's of their screenplays. The text often stops
working if I scroll away to double check something on another page forcing me to create a new text box, AND, it will display that same text in random places on other pages. Also, I would like the ability to create my own text box dimensions so that the text wraps and stays confined to the text box instead of just continuing off screen which makes no sense as a feature. In what circumstance could that be helpful?
Please fix the wonky acrobat features to make…

Direct typing in comments
The previous version of Acrobat commenting was simple and intuitive. You place your cursor and start typing for "insert", highlight and type automatically "replaces", highlight and delete automatically deletes. The new interface is slow, cumbersome, unintuitive and forces you to constantly change tool.
Bring back contextual typing. I've downloaded an older version since this version is useless for comments.

default does not actually stay as default
I do NOT wish to show my last name on comment bubbles. I have tired to update this several times. It does not keep the data even when I check the box for "make these properties default"

Space-bug in commenting
After the recent update, Acrobat accepts blank spaces in comments, which is very good news.
The bad news is that comments containing just a blank space are incorrectly imported back in Indesign (see image).1 vote -
Formatting with a comment lost while editing a comment
This has been observed after Adobe Acrobat Pro was recently updated.
Why should the intial formatting be lost when we edit a comment? So, let's say if we have some portions of the comment in bold, it will automatically become 'unbold' when we start editing the comment. We then have to go back to the comment (after saving because autosave is now gone!) and redo all the formatting that was done earlier. This bug surely needs to be fixed as formatting within a comment is crucial if it is indicative of a pattern within a PDF file.4 votes -
scroll bar for comments sidebar
Please restore the scroll bar for the comments sidebar in Acrobat. The scroll bar is now hidden by default, but it's jumpy and hard to access. I now have to use the arrow keys on my keyboard to move up and down within the panel. It's become much harder to use in the redesigned interface.

Bug : Error opening pdf page after extract - Ghostscript report
Submitting a bug at ghostscript's request
https://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=707678#c3
The pdf in attachment (page5_gs) fails to open in Acrobat DC.
However, upon opening the pdf with Adobe Acrobat, I encountered an error message indicating that the document has an issue, and a significant portion of the page's content is missing. Interestingly, page 5 functions perfectly when I open source_document.pdf with Adobe Acrobat.
It's important to note that this issue only occurs with Adobe software; page5.pdf opens correctly with Chrome-based browsers and Mozilla Firefox.

crash
I use a windows 10 PC and this app has become nearly unusable. Every single time I am editing a document or commenting, it crashes. If I leave the document open and don't touch it, it crashes. It's now crashing so badly that the textbox wont even let me write a report or send feedback on the crash. This is completely UNNACCEPTABLE given I PAY A MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION FOR THIS APP.

Bad UI / bug: floating comments box text hidden with useless whitespace
The old version of Acrobat (Pro X) allowed users to put comments on various items in the document, such as highlighted text, etc. and move those boxes around on the document and change their size.
Now, Acrobat (Pro 2019 and onward) obscures that comment box with a reply field and totally wasted blank space beneath it (see attached). A user shouldn't have to click on a comment box to see the text that's there. This is yet another example of HORRID user interface changes. While reply-type commenting is a useful feature, destroying the original comment box's functionality for those that…

STABILIZE COMMENTING BOX FOR EDITING PLEASE
When I return to a previously inserted comment box to edit. The previously typed texts gets grayed out and the entire comment box then 'disappears' on the page. I have to retype everything again. Sometimes that invisible comment box reappears somewhere else. Sometimes there are hidden boxes from previous comments which has to be deleted. Please Stabilize the comment box, do not override previously entered texts. Allow one to edit previously typed texts without making the text 'disappear'

Comments Format Box cannot be moved and overlaps comments
The format box that appears when typing in a comment is not moveable and overlaps with my document - sometimes OVER the comment I'm trying to type. making it VERY difficult to edit text or use the PDF. Can't this be dockable? or at least Moveable??

Extract Highlighted Text into Word or PDF
Need the ability to extract ONLY the highlighted text and tables to a word or PDF document for easy reference. Students studying will benefit from an abridged version of the PDF to only review highlighted notes from their PDF.

Text entry (GER: Texteingabe) buggy [Reader]
Bug: when adding text (Function [A]) in Reader 2024.002.20759, sometimes
- the text becomes non-editable. Becomes editable again, if you add a new text field on the same page.
- the text appears on random different pages
- the text disappears.
I started to use Reader again, because the added text is searchable, compared to a competitors free tool.
But these bugs are really annoying.Another bug: sometimes the original text is not readable or completely disappears. If you mark / select it, it appears again.
When adding new functions, pls make sure, the ones that work since 20 years,…

Bug with highlighted text contextual menu in Acrobat Pro on Mac
Highlighting text has stopped working properly in Adobe Acrobat Pro (version 2024.002.20759) on Mac OS Sonoma 14.5. A highlight can be added but after doing so the contextual menu no longer appears, so the user cannot easily change the colour of the highlight or delete it. I notice that this functionality does still work on the Chrome extension version of Acrobat, but it would be very useful to get this bug fixed in the Mac app.
