  2. I create PDF room plans from Design 2020. I have been doing this for years with no major issues. I often edit the PDF's to replace pages that have to changed due to client product changes. I also edit existing notes and add notes into the PDF, again with no major issues for years. Today I had to create a new page 2 for a set of plans. The page was successfully created with all text and images as they should be. I replaced page 2 in the plan set and then added additional notes on that page. I highlighted…

  3. Simple edits like adding a comma or capitalizing a letter randomly made every word with f in it become f unky. (speci f ication, prof itabiltiy.)

Then there's the issue of matching the font: if an editor could copy/paste an existing word or letter to make an edit that ensure the match.

Too bad. Indie authors/publishers need a reliable editing tool.

  4. Ever since getting Adobe Acrobat DC Pro (version 2019.010.20100) on a new Windows 10 64-bit Enterprise client , any time I open a PDF to do anything (edit, PDF, Organize Pages, or just leave the PDF open without selecting any tool), I have about 45 seconds before Acrobat locks up and is unresponsive. Every time I have to close the program. I have to go to another workstation running Windows 7 Professional SP1 and use Acrobat Pro 2015.006.30456, which runs flawlessly. Do I have to make a request to roll my machine back to Windows 7 in order to solve…

  5. I sometimes need to selectively edit a portion of a pdf, but when I click on Edit PDF, the OCR process messes up the format, or changes fonts to the point that it would be virtually impossible to recreate the "messed up" portion of the PDF. I realize that this is very likely due to the fact that the document was not originally created in Acrobat, but was probably scanned or converted from a document created from, say, MS Word, or similar program. But, as a former programmer, I think that it would be possible ... i.e., to selectively choose…

  6. Currently, the only way to make a PDF presentation loop automatically is to check an option in Acrobat's full screen settings, at program level. This means that when im collaborating, I need to send the file along with instructions on how change their program settings to get the file to work correctly. This setting should be a file level. I can't be the only one that needs this...

  7. On different files, I've gotten the following error: "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired". This occurred after adding text to a PDF.

  8. when I open the crop dialogue I want to turn pages to see what happens to other pages after crop is done but there is no such option and I can only know this only after the cropping is done. If it gone wrong in some pages I have to Ctrl+z and cop again while i'm guessing the future output!

  9. So I had complained on Twitter about what it was like to use Acrobat Pro for production, and the Adobe asked for my feedback. I’ll try to give you some here.

My background is as a motion designer (for over 30 years) so I’m very familiar with photoshop, illustrator, after effects , 3D programs, etc. not really a print guy, but am helping out with a non-profit here in Athens, Ga.

What I’ve been doing is checking (and fixing) ads that come in for this non-profit’s publications. They usually arrive as PDFs, some image-based, some vector, some hybrid. The problems…

  13. I had successfully edited a PDF, resizing boxes, fonts and changing styles. I saved the file and closed acrobat. When I open the file again, heads (see attached) changed to display this X boxes. This happened more than once.

  14. Haven't been able to find a method to mirror a scanned pdf image. Your older software worked relatively easily, but not Adobe Acrobat Pro DC!

  15. I scanned a document into PDF format. I am editing the document. The editing process behaves fine with the exception of the letter "o" being replaced by the letter "p". This is the only issue. No other letters are transposed. I am a CC subscriber running Windows 10 64-bit pro

  16. Every single week I open up a pdf to edit it and all of my tools are rearranged or removed from the tool bar on the right. I edit pdfs every day and my arrangement only lasts a few days before it suddenly resets. This is super annoying and I would like to know how to get it to stop doing that. I need Organize Pages, Edit PDF and Stamp in the order I have them now, in a few days all of these will be rearranged and Stamp will be removed. I then have to go back into More…

  18. I must admit I find the Acrobat editing features terrible. Why not have an "Edit" that allows editing of text and fields, instead Edit PDF and Edit Form. When I try to move a small field (radio button), 90% of the time I end up resizing it, a better targeted way without letting go of the mouse to indicate what I want to do (finding the sweet spot for cross hair or resize should be so difficult or at least have a right click). Why does it have to be so difficult to move an element (text or field) from…

  20. I do a lot of reviewing of documents (I'm a lecturer in a college). In the old version of acrobat, I could (for example) select text and delete using the keyboard. Now I have to select text, move to the mouse, hit the right key, and select the menu item 'strikethrough'. This is a much more extensive interaction that takes a lot of extra time when you have a 200 page 1st draft thesis in front of you for example, that might need 20 such interactions per page. GOMs theory backs that me up here. Am I missing something: is…
