  1. It should not cost $270, much less $400, just to edit and save .pdfs. ***** that. I'm just going to keep using my old Acrobat.

  2. with latest firefox 52.0 security update from march 2017, using my adobe cloud customer center webpage for example wanting to access and view and print my monthly adobe invoice, i am no longer offered to see the actual invoice pdf, or actually the kind-of plugin mechanism to display that pdf file inside the firefox browser has been technically deprecated or changed or disabled by mozilla (firefox creators) and thus i cannot even see or download or trigger my monthly invoice in my customer center at adobe.com. Please fix this technical shortcoming or actually complete lack of functionality now. Using windows7,…

  4. When I create a PDF from a Word 2008 for Mac file, the hyperlinks to urls carry over, but not the ScreenTips (designed for human use, not machine use) to tell the reader what the link is to.

I thought this feature was available based on this document: http://www.ned.uscourts.gov/internetDocs/cmecf/hyperlinking_attorneys_word.pdf (at page 32)

  5. My predecessor was emailed a set of documents (PDFs) and he must have dragged/dropped the files onto our server because I cannot open the PDFs. When I do, Adobe Acrobat pops up a window that says "...could not open [file name] because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
To create an Adobe PDF doc, go to the source application. Then print the document in Adobe PDF."

    I don't have access to my predecessor's email nor do I have…

  6. The distribute tool buttons that are available when editing forms appear to be mislabeled compared to other programs like Illustrator and InDesign. The button that has the symbol to distribute horizontally distributed selected form elements vertically. The tool tip also seems to be mislabeled.

I'm using the Windows version of CC by the way. I've compared to the other programs that have align/distribute features and believe

I have forwarded your request to engineering. It will be picked up after prioritization. We will contact you if we need some more information on this.
    Thank you for your patience

  7. The highlighter tool currently stops at a page break. The workaround is to select the text BEFORE highlighting and then pressing the icon to highlight just that text ... but the actual tool should be able to do it as well ... and can't.

    Hello Frank ,

    Thanks for contacting us.

Regarding this feature request as the comments are associated with a page and in right pane comment list a comment falls under a page accordion so a single highlight cannot spam across page.

When select the text BEFORE highlighting and then pressing the icon to highlight the text you can see that two different highlight comments are added and can be seen in comment list.

Same can be done by adding two highlights separately.

    Its as per design.

    Thanks and Regards

  9. I publish gov't docs for public review. For reasons too boring to explain, I now have to put the figures that go with the text in an appendix way at the end of the pdf and not just on the next page where they are referenced in the text. So now the figures are at the end of the pdf. I want to Acrobat to add a feature that would open a new window for a link within one pdf. This would allow the public to clink on a link to a figure, open the figure in a separate window…

Thanks for bringing this issue to our notice. Your valuable feedback helps us improving our product. We discussed about this particular issue and we do not have any plans to work on it in immediate future. However, we’ll have it in our radar and might revisit at an appropriate time in future.

    1. The compare PDF feature does not work correctly for comparing two PDFs in which the only changes were edits to a table in InDesign. Almost every element on the newer PDF has been flagged as changed. The flagged notes show that Acrobat is comparing the wrong components to one another.

The two compared PDFs originated from the same InDesign file, and created with the same PDF presets.

Compare settings were tested set to both "autodetect" and "reports, spreadsheets, magazine layouts"; Show in report set to "Text" only.

    1. Original PDF created. Dates changed in a table; new PDF generated using same…

  11. Make the giant splash screen close when documents close. Also make it default to a SMALLER size if I have resized it in a previous session. Stop making your software overbearing.

  13. I've set 'page zoom to defualt width' in 4 different areas and i can't get the desired behavior of keeping the same zoom level when I click betwen chapters (short of manually setting the click>go to behavior for each chapter). Main properties doesn't have an effect and neither does setting the default page zoom from the properties menu accessed from the side panel (with all the chapter links). The top bar page zoom is reset after every chapter jump.

  14. Acrobat now defaults to scroll view.

Annoying, useless and a backward step from 1 page view.

And no way to changes settings, to use it the way it was.

  15. Get rid of new version. You have added so much eye candy that simple tasks have become difficult. Fire your staff and live off the royalties of your old version. Your harrassed users will thank you.

  17. Converting a PSD to a PDF file takes forever because of the completely unnecessary detour via Document Cloud.
Besides of serious privacy and security issues, it's just insane to upload a PSD from my harddrive, just to download it again and create a PDF, which is again saved on my harddrive.
it would be alright if it would work, but more often than not it just stops the progress bar while "uploading". Even if it works, it takes ages!

Please make an EASY OPTION (like a buton) to disable the Document Cloud.

    Sincerely,
    Everyone!

  19. Acrobat DC (Creative Cloud)
    Version: 2019.008.20074
    Windows 7 64bit

This has occurred since last update.

    1. Click on file icon to open.
    2. Acrobat crashes immediately.

    3. Open Acrobat first

    4. File opens as expected.

    5. Close a tab within Acrobat

    6. 'Home' screen shows a frozen image of closed file.

    7. Click on 'Tools' tab - works as expected

    8. Click on 'Home' tab - shows a frozen image of 'Tools' screen.

    9. Unable to view any recent files via the home screen.

Repair / reinstall has not cured this glitch!
