  1. Comment Bar Close or Open by Default

Would like an option to keep the comment bar either closed or opened by default when you open any Adobe document.
    Thank you!

  2. Add "no color" (transparent) option as Fills color (Change color comment tool)

Cannot change fill color to transparent ("no color") using the new tools.
Only way to do it is to go into the properties via right click or Ctrl+E.

  3. Export review comments to Excel

The comments compilation remains as a .pdf only. I want to be able to extract shared review comments to an Excel file for further resolutions to be added outside the review. The .fdf and the .xfdf create garbled data content. The export to Word is also with issues. It does not work.
Request a feature that will allow export to a flat-file Excel file.

  4. Make straight edges on highlights an option in Commenting preferences

Highlights are currently rounded at the edges, which makes it difficult for editors and compositors to tell whether the highlight applies to surrounding punctuation, spaces, and other narrow characters. Additionally, the blue boxes that appear around the highlights when they are clicked on often extend past the text that was actually selected, which can cause further confusion for those who need to edit things precisely.

Straight edges on highlights would allow for a clearer and more accurate view of what is being commented on. Please make this is an option in the Commenting preferences.

  5. Freehand ink option for annotating PDFs using a stylus/pen, current pencil tool is glitchy.

I have some PDFs that I'd like to be able to draw on, either feedback on work for students or filling in templates. The pencil tool currently available doesn't do this smoothly (view screencapture example https://youtu.be/gr8UZYddzBo ). I'd like to be able to draw/write freehand like I can on a powerpoint presentation, so I can send notes and feedback to my students more easily.

  6. Highlighter opacity setting has no effect on image highlight (freehand)

The highlighter opacity setting only applies to text highlight, and has no effect on image/freehand highlight (which appears to be equivalent to "100% opacity" setting (not actually 100% as you can see through it - which is ok).

  7. Change color tool for a line should automaticaly switch to Borders not Fills

Opening the Change color drawing tool when a line is selected should switch to Borders as Fills color does nothing for a line. Better yet, show both border and line color options in one window instead of requiring switching tabs.

  8. Text callout resize wrong cursor

The mouse cursors that show when resizing a text callout are opposite.
    i.e.
Vertical resize cursor shows instead of horizontal and vice versa
NE-SW resize cursor shows instead of NW-SE and vice versa

  9. Enable screenshots in comments

    (Windows 10)
When we exchange layout PDFs with our clients, they send us the PDF back with comments. It would be really helpful if you could insert screenshots via copy/paste into the comment box.

  12. Pasted dark-coloured text not legible in comment in dark mode

    Bug report:

Dark-coloured text copied and pasted into a comment, i.e., in an 'Add note to replace text' comment, is not legible in dark mode. It appears as dark grey against the dark grey background.

  13. ink color

As an instructor who grades students electonic work in Acrobat on an iPad with Apple Pencil, I would LOVE to have some more ink colors, particularly silly or sparkly inks (rainbow sparkles! gold and silver sparkles!). Microsoft Word has this option on iPads/tablets for Apple Pencil or whatever stylus is used, but Acrobat does not. Is there a way to make this happen?

I know this is kind of silly compared to other requests you get, but it is a small thing that makes a big difference for students who dread the red pen but for some reason don't dread…

  14. Allow distributed form to not auto open comment list

There should be a setting when creating a form in Acrobat Pro such that when a user opens it in Acrobat Reader and they click on the comment icon, that the comment list pane on the right side of the document does not automatically open up. This is confusing for some users. They should be able to open it up manually, but it should be possible to set it to not auto-open that pane.

  15. Please add Insert text at cursor tool to cloud commenting

Cloud commenting from Acrobat and InDesign is an amazing idea but it feels hobbled without the insert text at cursor tool, particularly for reviewing text heavy documents. Please consider expanding the commenting functions available to cloud reviewers.

  17. Allow grouping/ungrouping of drawing tool markups (pencil marks)

Acrobat automatically groups drawing tool (pencil) marks together, which is sometimes desirable and sometimes not. Why is there no option to right-click and group/ungroup pencil marks like there is for arrows, lines, and shapes? If I want to add a separate comment for each pencil mark, I undo the latest mark(s) and try to "trick" Acrobat by highlighting something or adding a shape, comment, etc. and then adding the second pencil mark. Sometimes this works and sometimes I have to do this multiple times. Then I go back and delete the unwanted highlight/shape/comment. If I create another pencil mark later,…

  18. copy text from PDF including changes (e.g. made with "strikethrough" or "insert" tools)

In the commenting mode for Acrobat DC Pro, there are "strikethrough", "replace", and "insert text" tools, among others.

When I select and copy some text (for example, to count the words or rephrase it in another window), it copies the original text and disregards anything crossed out or inserted. This means I have to re-do all the changes by hand.

It would be great if one could copy the text in a way that incorporates the changes, similar to how you can opt to copy text with or without formatting, in some programs.

  19. Highlighter Tool color option Pop-up

A feature that allows users to long click/press the highlight/underline/strikethrough tool upon selecting text.
Upon long clicking/pressing it, it should show around 5 different color options (user's top/most recent) to highlight the selected text.

This would help users avoid navigating to the toolbar every single time just to change the highlight color.

  20. Better support for keyboard shortcuts to markup documents

I have been using Adobe products for Graphic Design and Publishing work for many years, and for most of it my co-workers and I have stuck to paper printouts and pencils for markup. Now that we're all working from home, we're relying on Acrobat and PDF markup tools and I'm so frustrated by how unintuitive this program is, compared with InDesign, which I use on a daily basis. I am used to switching from one tool to another with keystrokes that are deep in muscle memory, and I can use them in one way or another when I open Photoshop.…
