IT WAS FINE to have a checkbox. It took HALF THE TIME.

  2. Getting comment list to show in Acrobat DC takes way too much time. It's a drag. At least on Mac OS.

    Hi All,

We have provided a registry protected fix, some users confirmed that this worked for them.
Could you please try this at your end as well and let us know your feedback?
Kindly make sure you are on the latest DC build(20.012.20043) and then follow the steps from the attached word file: “Steps.docx”.

    Regards,
    Arvind

  3. Since updating to Acrobat Pro DC (version 2017.012.20098), I cannot individually copy arrow, line, rectangle, or oval shapes (with or without accompanying comments) from one PDF and paste them into another PDF. As an editor, I use these tools all day to mark corrections and I regularly have the need to carry over unaddressed/outstanding edits to the next version of the project. Without the ability to simply copy and paste, I have to redo a lot of work—losing efficiency and opening up room for error. Please restore this fundamental function!

  4. Each comment in the column on the right hast to be opened to be checked with done (check mark). But then the answer-field is opening and the answering field of the former comment will be closed. When the checkmark is not set, the comment is always shifting a bit up. That makes a work with 500 corrections really bumpy/uneasy.
The size of each comment is also too big. In the former version there were 17 comments on one screen, now there are just 9 comments!
Make one comment without opening and smaller and more clearly arranged without moving!!

The original issue reported in the main thread is resolved by giving a preference for checkbox in the latest release. The other issue reported by Ian Davis is under our radar and we will let the user know if we pick it for future release.

  5. Open PDF – note that Acrobat DC reports one comment in sidebar on right of window.

This is on Acrobat Pro DC, up-to-date (version 2021.001.20155), Running on MacOS Catalina (v.10.15.7). Comments were made on Acrobat Reader DC for PC, (version 2021.001.20138)

Expected result – should display the amount of total comments in the PDF.

Observed result – only displays comments once those pages are navigated to or scrolled past.

This has been reproducible on multiple versions of MacOS

  6. I often deal with PDFs with hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of edits. The Comments panel in Acrobat DC includes way too much blank space, including a title line ("Strikethrough Text", "Highlighted Text", etc.) and needlessly provides a default "Type your reply..." area for every comment. This isn't Facebook (meaning, replies aren't always necessary). Please provide preferences that allow comments to appear in more compact form, as they did with Acrobat X or Acrobat 11.

  8. I would like to be able to lock the Comment Tools and/or my personal Custom Tools to the top of the Toolbar so they automatically show up each time you open a .pdf file. I use the Comment Tools quite frequently and it would make it much easier if I don't have to add them each time I open a .pdf file. Also, it seems strange my personal Custom Tools show up on the right side of the file. I would think they would show up on the top Toolbar.

Please let us know if the issue is resolved.

  10. Provide ability to hide the Tools Pane to increase the field of content.
I review and markup engineering drawings and other documents. Some of these are quite large. I need the maximum amount of content in the window. As long as I can access the comment menu in the tool bar above, I have what I need.

  11. It would be incredibly useful to be able to set keyboard shortcuts for the "Set Status: None, Accepted, Completed, Cancelled, and Rejected" commenting tools.

Set status, to me is an advanced feature used to enable more efficient workflows, adding keyboard shortcuts would add even more efficiency.

  12. I'm required to fill in a lot of forms with my signature and the date. And since the date always changes, I edit my signature image in PSD and then bring it in to Acrobat and make (or edit) a stamp. But in Acrobat the process of editing a stamp with a new image is grueling! ... 10 steps! (see attached).

  13. Closing a comment with the Esc key deletes text entered into the comment.

    Details:

    OS-Language: German
    Application Language: German
Acrobat DC / Acrobat Reader DC Version: 2022.001.20142

    Steps to reproduce

    1. Open PDF; PDF:X4 created with InDesign CC 2022 (17.3) using placeholder text generated by InDesign
    2. Open commenting toolbar
    3. Select text or place cursor
    4. Start writing ("lorem ipsum")
    5. Hit "Esc" key

  14. I always used the tick box while reviewing, using a filter so that comments I processed also disappeared. It was an easy and intuitive way of editing the source text with the help of the comments in the PDF. After the last update, the tick box is gone and now hidden. You have to click the dots in the top right corner of the comment, then select 'Set status' and then click the status. That's THREE clicks instead of one. NOT user friendly, NOT intuitive, NO improvement. Please give me back my tick box!

  15. When I set comments to only show unchecked comments, but then I reply to an unchecked comment, then check both that comment and my comment, it won't filter these newly checked comments.

I have to choose "show all comments" then filter by unchecked again for it to work. Please fix.

  17. Some Forms (IRS) restrict areas of the document where you can enter information. This can be helpful, except when you need to sign and date the form after you have filled it in. For some reason the "date" part of the form will not accept text from "Fill and Sign", but it will accept a stamp. All of the default dynamic stamps in Acrobat have additional, un-needed text like "Approved', etc.

Please add two dynamic stamps that have ONLY 1) the Date and 2) Date and Time without any additional verbage so that the user can quickly sign AND date…

  18. In previous versions of Acrobat I was able to Check a comment (typically once I had made an edit to my InDesign doc). By setting the filter to show unchecked comments only I was systematically able to go through a set of clients edits. In the new version of Acrobat you have removed the ability to just click to check a comment. I now have to open a drop down menu and select it. This is really annoying when you have a large document with over 100 comments (as I regularly do).

Please return the simple check box to the…

  19. Please create a preferences setting so that the commenting sidebar opens by default when opening a document. That's what I use 99% of the time, and it's irritating to have to open that up every single time.

  20. There used to be lines in between each comment that help you see where one comment ended and the next one started. The new comments panel design is a mess that makes it hard to distinguish which comment is checked and which is not everything just flows together in one long indistinguishable mess. And for God’s sake bring back the old method of checking off a comment.
