Reopen PDFs Launched in previous sessions on Opening Acrobat/Reader
A Prereference in Acrobat should be there which loads the last session of opened tabs/pdfs on relaunching. Also could provide options to save/load previous sessions.
This may be Important to the users who work on several pdfs at a time but wish to retain the opened docs in the next Acrobat session.
Also Session could be managed to retain even after machine restart and then launching acrobat.
Hi,

Other, much more powerful applications have it, like PDF Expert for macOS.

Very frustrating not to have this; every other multi-tabbed application offers it.

So its been a few years now...why no progress here...seems most applications already do this...except Acrobat/Reader...which has existed since the dinosaurs.

For anyone who can't wait, PDF Xchange has this feature.
You can even save your session as a file, which is useful if you want to start fresh and still have the ability to later open the group of PDFs you used to have open. I also sometimes save a session file to cloud storage, so I can open up the same group of PDFs on another computer (provided the 2nd computer has the same folder/file structure).

This has been a huge problem for me for so long. As a postgrad student, it is immensely helpful to always have the same documents in tabs. I am very happy since I purchased PDF Expert (3 licenses included, at 1/2 price for students). And I can annotate very nicely, as well as edit if need be. I can also take screen-shots of equations to paste in.

This is so overdue....with Windows 10 updating and rebooting itself it has become very frustrating to try to reload a bunch of PDF's. Chrome has restore facility so why not Acrobat? I now take regular screenshots of open Adobe tabs to remember the chain of documents. I have asked my engineering postgrad students to look for alternative software

Here’s a joke. I contacted customer support via chat at Adobe and forwarded a link to this user feedback chain. She responded that this was not a part of Adobe and that this was a third-party site. I didn’t bother arguing and just tried to explain my request to add the save session feature. She responds that it’s not available at this time but I can submit a request. She then sends me a link to the same website that I had just sent her. So so stupid. I’m looking for other options at this point. I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

Looks like Adobe team doesn't understand different type of users using Adobe Reader, many of them keep more than one pdf's opened and want it to reopen at next start.
I would say Adobe team should change the way they do user testing.

Adobe, please address this issue with a decision and a delivery date. It's been 'under review' for 18 months now. How long does it take you to make an obvious decision ? Your competitors have this feature (for years). Your customers are demanding it. People are leaving your product and publicising alternatives on your own site, because you are unresponsive. It's an easy, inexpensive feature to add. Firefox has it. Chrome has it. WinWord has it. Your customers have even handed you the use-cases for it. Some of us are limited to use of Acrobat by corporate policy, so we don't have the obvious choice to use a competitor product. Please, Just Do It...

I have a distinct impression that coders just don't care very much about what the end result and functionality is. Especially when fuelled by Agile methodology: everyone keeps getting paid for never-ending tweaks, but properly functioning software is not the prime consideration. And... coders are not scientists!

I switched to PDF-XChange Editor, cheaper and providing the required functions... Bye, Adobe and in the near future hopefully 'Bye, PDF Standard!'

So frustrating it is not possible. It is a nightmare to remember and re-open dozens of file every time I need to reboot.

Plus one would like to be able to reboot without having to recall and reopen the tabs one was working on. Those tabs are what I use as a sort of to-do list. Here it is 2019, nearly 2 years since the initial request was made and there has been no action. Why can’t you make what appears to be a simple change?? Browsers do it, but Acrobat can’t?!
