Hi,
Thanks for reaching out to us for your concerns.
Can you please let me know the exact version number of Adobe Acrobat DC that your are working on ?
I Tried this at my end and Drag drop in Page Thumbnails panel in a pdf / across pdfs is working fine for me.
Also i would request you to kindly share with me a screen recording video of the steps that you are trying to do here ?
You can send me that at ajain@adobe.com
Thanks

I just updated to v 2022.001.20117 | 64 bit on Windows 10. I cannot drag and drop pages across files by dragging to the file in the task bar to active the file to which I want to transfer. I can only do this now by having the page thumbnails for both files visible on the screen and drag across the two open and visible files. Prior to this update, I could select pages from one file, drag them onto the other file where I want to place (which also has the thumbnails open), and that would activate the receiving file and I could then place the pages into that file.

This has been a recent problem for me too. Tried so many things, and this finally worked:
Disable Protected Mode by going to Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced) and deselecting Enable Protected Mode at startup.
Restart Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader.

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Suddenly for some reason, I wasn't able to drag one PDF doc into another PDF doc.
I remember changing one setting...also not sure why I thought it was okay.--Go to the program properties.
(Aka right-click on the program file...for me "Adobe Acrobat Pro", go to bottom where it says Properties.)
--Under the Compatibility tab, I UNCHECKED "Run this program as an adminstrator"I was then able to drag and drop from one PDF to another PDF file.
I defintely use this for work, now remotely working paperless from home.
Hope that helps somebody out there. -

THIS WAS AN EASY FIX FOR ME!
Don't know if this will work for everyone, but it did for me. I had 4 single page pdfs that would not drag and drop..
1. Opened the first pdf, put in Organize Pages (thumbnail) mode
2. Choose Extract Pages and check "Extract pages as separate files" box before extracting
3. Save this file to another location
4. Opened the new file and was able to drag the other 3 as usual! -

i've been using the drag and drop for years and one day about 2 weeks ago the only thing i couldn't do is drag a page or pages from a PDF file into my folders as a new document. I fixed it today by doing this:
Edit - Preferences - Security
On this page I clicked the button that says "clear remembered account information..." then I closed all my Adobe windows and when I opened a PDF file, I was finally able to drag and drop again. Not sure if this is going to create any new problems for me but hope this helps! -

This is BS. I am not subscribing just to get features I already had in a previous permanent version. I get that Adobe came up with subscriptions to thwart piracy, but all you're doing is punishing the people who always purchased Adobe products. I remember when Adobe Acrobat Pro X shipped with Apple OSX. And that's what I am still using today.

this problem has annoyed me for a few weeks, thank you for all the below suggestion. I've tried one of the below solution and it works for me and got it fixed:
Run DISM Tool in Command Prompt and restart.
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
this will take a min; note the spaces as well in command prompt
then do this one.
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Once finished, I restarted PC. Test again if still not working (which is in my case) then do one last step:
Uninstall and install Adobe Pro DC. Restart PC.
After I did all that, it fixed this problem. (Although you have to reset all your customise adobe setting)
Good Luck all ~

I use DC version 20.013.20064.Using the page thumbnails, I cannot drag a page into a new folder and have not been able to do so for over a week. I can move pages within an existing PDF using the thumbnails. Using the thumbnail, I can drag and drop a page from one PDF into another PDF. I can extract pages and print it as an Adobe PDF to a new folder. The only problem seems to be dragging and dropping a page from a PDF into a new file. Vikki

I can usually drag and drop pages from a PDF into a folder on my desktop but cannot as of yesterday. I appear to be having the same issues as the below commenter. Is a fix coming or is this a permanent change?

Same issue, which just started occurring on Oct 27,2020 after the software has been installed and working fine for about a month, give or take a few days. What's strange is that it just magically started happening in the middle of breaking down a binder document into individual documents. No restarts, no updates, no warning, no nothing...just BAM...no workey no more!

Good Day Adobe Team,
Have you managed to find a solution to this issue?
Please note, this is a critical issue to some users!
Thanks. -

I'm having this issue with a new Win 10 PC 64 bit.
I have the same software version, and same files, on a Win 7 machine and the drag & drop works fine. So it isn't the file, and yes, I know how to zoom out to do it.
I tried the potential solutions here, and it didn't work. Was this ever solved?

Zoom to under 100% for all pages you are trying to merge. That worked for me.

This problem with rearranging pages has plagued me for years. I have tried dozens of suggestions and none of them worked. The only way to get around it is to reboot. Then miraculously it works again. It's so intermittent that I can't track what's causing it. The programs I use daily are Adobe, EfileCabinet, Lacerte, Outlook, Word nothing out of the ordinary.
