  1. I use the backspace key in commenting to strike thru text. Sometimes when I do this, the strike-thru shows up as a blue line and it is connected to a previous insertion. I can get it to work if I click on the strikethru text icon on the toolbar, but I'd rather it work when I use the keyboard shortcut.

In the attached file, you can see where two sets of text are connected to the same insertion, making it hard to tell where I want text replaced.

  3. I came in with a notification to log into Adobe Creative Suite for profile setup. After running the the dialog box to set up the profile, I lost all comments on shared Acrobat files. That is over 5 hours of review comments lost. Is there a way to retrieve those comments? I have no interest in reviewing a 90 page document again.

    Dear Customer,

Thanks for reaching out to us. We are looking into the issue reported by you and will try our best to resolve it. Meanwhile could you please give us the below info and let us know.

    1. This issue happens to you for one specific file or on everyone.
    2. Could you please try opening the shared file from Web(Browser) and let us know if comments are visible or not.
    3. Also please share error if you got any.

  4. Dear Adobe, my organization extensively uses commenting features on PDFs but occasionally the way that text is recognized creates problems for highlighting and text selection; in particular, a common failure mode is to try to highlight a sentence but then text above and below it is also selected as if the text is actually organized as a column.

Notwithstanding the underlying issue, this and other occasions mean that it would sometimes be more useful to be able to use the freeform "marker" style highlighter (with the circular cursor outline instead of the text selector style) regardless of the state of…

  5. I want the ability to end a "Shared Review" (to prevent new comments from coming in) yet still have access to the comments after I've closed a review to additional comments.

Currently, I have to leave Shared Reviews open until I've cleaned up/followed-up on each of the comments reviewers have left or else the comments disappear.

I don't like the options for saving/printing/outputting the comments to paper or files; they're not nearly as useful as having it all right in Acrobat Pro with the tools I normally use.

Please add the feature to close a shared review to new comments…

  6. One of your recent updates broke my ability to use the yellow highlighter on the ribbon tool bar at the top in Acrobat to highlight text in PDF documents. This used to work great but now when I try to highlight, it grabs a huge area of the document and is completely useless now. See attachments. I use this all the time (or I did) so please fix this ASAP! Thanks.

  7. It's good to have the color swatch for the highlight and underline and so... it can be super to have the possibility to have different highlight and underline with different colors in a toolbar, so instead to have to highlight and after changing the color, we can highlight or underline directly with the color we chose, like PDF expert

  8. Since a few Versions, we (on macOS) cannot check the checkboxes on comments. When we do, another comment appears (each time we click) stating that the checkbox has been checked (but it does not show ith checked).
When working with hundreds of comments, often using from different computers, it is imperative to know, which ones have been dealt with and which ones have not.
Please fix the checking of the comments (and have a look into why those only work for the computer they have been checked and are not being displayed correctly on other machines!).

  9. I want to do a Shared Review, but I do NOT want to use Document Cloud to do it because the commenting functions are so limited.

Why not revamp the Send for Shared Commenting to include Dropbox/Box/Google Drive?

The original Send for Shared commenting including WebDav, Network folder, and Sharepoint, but it was designed about a decade ago, long before cloud storage services became so popular.

Since Dropbox lets multiple users have read/write access to a folder, it would be great to incorporate that functionality into Acrobat Shared Reviews. Users can already open and save files to and from a…

  10. Found a reproducible crash in Adobe Reader DC -both free and Pro version (likely 100% occurrence in core i7 U series 7th, 8th gen, Xeon Gold, AMD Athlon):

    Prerequisite:
Under PREFERENCES>GENERAL, "Open documents as new tabs in the same window (require relaunch)" is UNCHECKED. This means every time I open a new PDF file, it will appear as a new window instead of nested tabs.
    - Opening a PDF file with highlighter markups
    - Opening a comment pane of that file
    - Then opening a new PDF window (from the same file): Window>New window
    - Opening another PDF file or…

  12. Mi idea is....take more care, and check properly before issuing an automatic update. Is a product that works too much to ask? It's like having a washing machine that receives an unwanted, unscheduled service that stops it working every time after the service engineer leaves. Adobe used to be so good in this respect....what happened??

  13. Typing into the text while the comment menu is open usually activates the relevant comment tools (eg. striketrough, add text etc.) but this function seems to be broken since the last update.
Working like this – having to choose a new tool each time from the menu (three mouse clicks as opposed to no clicks) – is highly frustrating when you use Acrobat for heavy professional editing jobs.
This is my main use of acrobat. Please fix asap.

  14. When I'm reviewing my highlights in the Comments pane and want to highlight something, keyboard clicking U instead creates a new comment. When I first select something and then click U.. it's striken through instead of highlighted? That is the opposite of what I'm trying to achieve!

I have to first cursor-select the Highlight tool to be able to properly keyboard switch again between other tools. I understand that giving U different functions in different contexts makes sense but this very much seems to be a bug.

  16. When save PDF as JPG format, we can see which has comment stickers on it by default, I think it doesn't make sense since JPG format is not the proper way for reviewing all the comments. Maybe it can be a optional setting for comment existing when save as a JPG.

  17. When viewing a document that has comments from a year ago, it would be helpful if the comments had the option to include the year of original posting in order to differentiate. For example, when a document has a comment from July 23, 2020, it only shows as "July 23" within Adobe, making the comment seem more recent.

  18. With the selection tool selected and the comments pane open, you should be able to click and type anywhere in your PDF, and the relevant text edit tool will be applied (strikethrough, replace, insert). This is a great timesaver. On my Mac, though, this works until I press one of the 'problem' keys – such as e, y, i, d, h, j – at which point no mark-up appears and my keyboard is disabled (including the arrow keys) until I close Acrobat and reopen it.
Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix this bug? It doesn't…

  19. The comments compilation remains as a .pdf only. I want to be able to extract shared review comments to an Excel file for further resolutions to be added outside the review. The .fdf and the .xfdf create garbled data content. The export to Word is also with issues. It does not work.
Request a feature that will allow export to a flat-file Excel file.

  20. Recently, the highlighter tool would remain selected so that I was able to use it to highlight multiple bits of text without having to select the tool for each thing I wanted to highlight. Now, I must re-select the tool each time, resulting in hundreds of extraneous clicks. How can I get the highlighter tool to stay selected?

This problem only began in the last week or so.

    Thanks for your help.
