Make text boxes, callout boxes, drawing tools not sticky
All out comments are done with text boxes, text callout boxes, lines and arrows (as opposed to the sticky-note style comment). When we select any of those tools, they stay selected, i.e. when I draw a callout box and type, then click off of it, all I do is create yet another callout box. I have to click the arrow at the top of that pane to deselect it, then click AGAIN to manually move or resize my box. Previous Adobe version, did not "stick" when I selected a text box or callout box or an arrow or line from…

Revert to the previous version's commenting tools
Things change - as does the UI - that is fine. Professionals working with Adobe Pro have adapted before. However, the changes have DOUBLED the amount of time it takes to mark up a PDF and as far as I can see there is no solution for this.
We are not longer able to highlight text, start typing and have text automatically replaced. We also have to select the tool, then implement the mark up.
We are not able to pick a spot in the text, start typing and have text automatically inserted. We also have to select the tool,…

"Copy selected text into Highlight, Strikethrough, and Underline comment pop-ups" is not available in Commenting preferences.
I came from Acrobat DC, in DC, there's option "Copy selected text into Highlight, Strikethrough, and Underline comment pop-ups" in Commenting preferences. It really speeds up my commenting, because I need to search the highted text, especially in a long document, such as book. So, please add it back. Thanks!

List replies to a comment in chronological order
When multiple people are replying to a comment, the order of the replies is bizarre. I described it in more detail three years ago when starting this community thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/show-comment-replies-in-ascending-date-order/m-p/15039678
I can't imagine any reason to have the replies in any order other that chronological (oldest first, so it can be read like a conversation), but if there is, then at least allow an option (in Preferences perhaps) to choose between chronological and what it does now. (Note: This problem happens in both Acrobat Pro and Adobe Reader - I'm requesting the fix for both.)

STICKY NOTE ARROWS
There should be an option for a Sticky Note arrow that points to the right. It's silly that I have to use left-facing arrows, which point away from the text I'm commenting on. Such a bizarre shortcoming that all Sticky Note icons can point only one direction.

Bug: A comment containing only a space character cannot be posted
When adding a comment that contains only a space character, the comment cannot be posted. This means that it is impossible to mark up changes that involve inserting a space, or replacing another character with a space in an 'import PDF comments' (https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/indesign/using/import-pdf-comments.html) workflow in InDesign.
Please allow posting of comments containing only a space character.

Please change the highlighter back
The little doodad/pin that's now attached at upper left obscures other text.

Search Comments
Need to locate specific comments in PDF, using a text string in Search Comments, without hiding or filtering other comments.
PDF has 100's of pages and 100's of comments.
A general text search isn't practical because it also finds the text string in the PDF content.1 vote -
Default Comment Name no longer changes
Running Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 2024.001.20604 on a Mac.
Previously, we could change the commenter name and make the new commenter name a default by editing the comment "Properties > General" and then checking "Make Properties Default", as detailed here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/acrobat-cc-comment-name-change/td-p/9307260
With the most recent update, "Make Properties Default" has no effect. It continually defaults back to each individual's Adobe User Name with every new comment. We can change each of them by hand, but cannot change the default behavior.
We can enable Edit>Preferences to "Always use Log-in name for author name", but that will only use the log-in name…

Need the ability to tag and notify users on acrobat web
In the desktop app, you're able to tag users in comments to notify them by email. This is a helpful feature, and it's not available in the web extension. My company uses the acrobat extension for MS sharepoint, and often collect many comments in report-length PDFs. I often respond to comments to answer/ask questions, but I need to ping people separately to let them know I've responded to their comment.

Comments Pane
I have tried multiple times to uncheck the "show comments pane when a PDF with comments is opened" box and clicking "OK". When I reopen my preferences, the box is checked again. I don't want that pane automatically opening. I have tried closing out of Adobe completely afterwards and even restarting my PC. What am I missing?
