OCR on/off default setting in Preferences - NOT the current "sticky check box" solution
I work in prepress and have repeated problems with OCR trying to render scanned images as text when it is not desired. Obviously, there is a checkbox under Edit PDF to disable it for each document, which appears to be "sticky," i.e. Adobe remembers the last setting used, however it would be better able to turn the default behavior on or off in Preferences so OCR can be employed only when it is desired. Using Adobe Pro DC for Windows 2020. Many thanks in advance.

If add to existing file is checked, make it possible to create a new filename in the file dialog (not only existing files)

Adobe Acrobat PRO 2017 cannot use Epson DS-520 Scanner
OSX Catalina with Acrobat PRO 2017, and networked scanner Epson
DS-520. I have installed the latest drivers and software for both
the Adobe software and the Scanner. When I start Acrobat and select
"Create PDF from Scanner", I get a pop up window with a choice of
scanners. I then select the EPSON DS-520 from the list and click
on SCAN. The SCAN button is then grey'ed out for a moment and
then its back to its original (blue) color.Acrobat Pro just sits there doing nothing, no Epson Software appears
and Acrobat Pro shows no progress indicator. If I…1 vote -
Make Auto OCR a switchable preference, not default!
Auto OCR cannot be switched off, but is not always welcome nor even meaningful. Moreover, it takes a lot of time and/or many its to the 'cancel' button.
Please, make it selectable preference - as it was before.2 votes -
Straighten
A button to straighten a scanned document would be so useful, particularly for anyone using a document feeder to scan. Currently, if you go to edit the document, it will straighten the pages for you, but it will sometimes convert handwritten notes into a font and change their appearance, which isn't ideal for signatures, for example. So, a separate option to straighten the document would be life changing for me at work.

Ability to select how many pages OCR in Action Wizard
Users should be able to select how many pages are scanned for recognizable text in Action Wizard or when OCRing multiple documents.
Performing OCR and recognizing text on a single document gives the user the option to select how many pages they want to OCR. Action Wizard and performing OCR on multiple documents removes the ability to select how many pages are scanned. I have several thousand documents that I'm only interested in performing OCR on the first page.
How is this not a thing?

Bug Report: Adobe Bug when creating pdf from scanner in latest Adobe Acrobat Pro DC
This is not an idea. It is a report of a serious, newly introduced bug in your expensive software.
File -> Create -> PDF from Scanner worked fine for me for several years with my Epson WF-3540 printer/scanner, several levels and versions of Adobe Acrobat products - up to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC - and my old Win7 laptop.
Last week I finally got around to deploying my new Win10 laptop and installing Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. Today I needed to scan some letters to PDF and was surprised and disappointed.
My usual "File -> Create -> PDF from Scanner"…

No way to correct OCR errors in Acrobat pro DC
There is a major problem with OCR in Acrobat Pro CD. I have recognized (OCR) text in many documents. They still contain a lot of recognition errors in the hidden text used for search. When I try to use the function/tool "Correct Recognized text" (translated from Norwegian), I get a message saying that there are no suspected errors. It is not possible to correct the remaining errors. This is just stupid, there is no 100% correct OCR program, there are lots of errors in the recognized text. There must be a way to fix the remaining errors, but your technical…

OCR API
As per information from the technical team currently there is no API available for converting the contents of a scanned PDF file to text format.
OCR is available from Acrobat Pro, but it would be more convenient for the user to select the file name and leave the whole process of reading the file, converting to text and processing the data to one program which would utilize this API.1 vote -

Bug in helpsite Fix the OCR error Could Not Perform Recognition in Acrobat
The german version of the helpsite is contradictory to the english one:
In "Additional Information" it reads:
Acrobat kann OCR in einem Dokument durchführen, das bearbeitbaren Text enthält.
In the english version it reads:
Acrobat cannot perform OCR on a document that contains renderable text.
The german version should be corrected because it is misleading!1 vote -
double sided scanning
It would be great if there was a way to create a .pdf from doublesided documents without doing each page manually or having a scanner that does it automatically. Ideally, I would scan the odd pages. Then turn the stack of documents over and scan the even pages. Then reverse the even pages (to go from low page number to high). Then combine the odd and even pages in a way that it will be: 1,2,3,4,5,6, etc

export bounding box coordinates
The export of an OCR'ed document contains not just the values for each bounding box, but also the bounding box's x,y, coordinates, width, and height. This can be an extremely useful feature when dealing with structured forms / documents where the location of text contains valuable information.

Thai OCR
How long do I have to wait for Acrobat to recognize Thai text from scanned images/documents
I am trying to recognize Thai text from the enhance document tool but Thai is not listed in the languages available. While I can't use this fucntion I also have to pay the same price as the others who can benefit from this feature.

Why don't you have the recognize text as a tool on the right hand side of the page? It's a pill to have to hit "Find Tools" every time.
