1. Phantom lines in ruler when moving cursor

   Moving my cursor throughout the document leaves phantom lines in the rulers. This seems to have begun with recent app upgrade (current version: 2026.001.21367 64-bit). See 3 photos attached: one with no movement, one with movement down & right, one with movement down/right/up/left. The phantom lines obscure the ruler measurements. This appears to be a bug in the app. Older versions do not present the issue, but I am unable to downgrade.

2. Tabs duplicate in windows taskbar

   Bug. I work with two monitors, and when I have the Adobe Acrobat window on one monitor, it shows as it should, but when I move the window to the other monitor the icons in the Windows taskbar multiplies, which get very annoying after just a few open dokuments. If I try to close a tab, the "duplicate" window in the taskbar is still there but empty. It has been like this for the last two updates of Acrobat I think. Please fix this error!

3. Old UI was Better

   Basically the old Adobe Acrobat Reader UI was significantly better and it continues to get worse. I often hop from PC to PC and every time I need to reinstall Reader I have to go and hunt down the settings to change everything back. It's taxing. Obnoxious. Here are the most important key changes that I have to make every time:

   1. The toolbar used to be docked at the top of the screen with tools like select, highlight, page navigation (back, forward, page up, page down), zoom, etc. Now it is a floating pane. I need it docked at the top.

   2. Page navigation tools including TOC and bookmarks used to be docked on the left side of the app. Now it's not there. I need it docked left.

   3. More tools used to be docked on the right side of the app like Export PDF, Edit PDF, Create PDF, etc and I could collapse it so I didn't actually see it. Now it is replaced with some kind of page navigation pane with "Edit, delete, or reply to comments", "Add, delete, or go to a specific bookmark", page thumbnails, next page and previous page and zoom. I need it the other older way.

   4. The old app interface had File, Edit, View, Sign, Window, Help in the top toolbar with Home and Tools in a toolbar just below that with the open files as tabs next to them in that same toolbar. Now there is just a Menu button with a bunch of options and a home button and the open files as tabs next to that menu and home button. I need it the old way.

   There's more too but this where I have to start over each time. It's awful. Why did you one day just decide the way everyone had been using it for years needed to be changed? And now I have to keep changing it back and have been doing so for years and I'm sick of it.

   And while I'm at it, remove any traces of AI from your products. Didn't ask for it. Don't need it. Don't want it.

4. Remove internal ads from paid version of Acrobat

   Can we please have a debloated home screen in Adobe Acrobat?

   Looking at the current layout, half the screen is wasted on stuff I’ll never use:
   • Curated project ads like “Unlock your sales potential with TED” — this isn’t why I opened Acrobat.
   • AI features pushing “summarize your notes” when all I want is to view and edit PDFs.
   • Meeting transcription integration — how is this even related to a PDF tool?

   And the strangest part: if I’m running Acrobat DC (formerly Acrobat Pro, Acrobat X, etc.), that already means I’m a paying customer. Why is the home screen still trying to upsell me with irrelevant promos?

   All of this clutters the interface and makes the actual purpose of Acrobat harder to reach. A Publisher Mode without ads, promos, or unrelated features would make Acrobat far more usable.

7. pop-ups

   Get your fingers out of my business. I pay the full price to use your software. So stop shoving pop-ups for new functions and other services in my face. I'm trying to work here. I'm not here for fun, and I sure as **** am not here for YOU. It's supposed to be the other way around. You're supposed to be the industry leader; act like it or I'll find another provider. They'll still push pop-ups in front of me, but they'll charge half the price for it. You should be ashamed.

8. I miss the Acrobat that just opened the file and did the work.

   I know competition, software development, and dealing with the public is hard, but I've been waiting for Acrobat's 2025 "give them so many popups that they realize how valuable we are" tactic to go away and it's just not happening. It looks like my windows machine is caught up in a war for which app is going to be opening PDFs, and I'm sad that y'all are going through that, but incessantly pestering of your paying customers just isn't the way. Some days it feels like an early 2000s infected web browser with the 'feature' ai and sharing popups. I miss the Acrobat that just opened the file and did the work. Sometimes, I'm opening these files up in front of people, and it feels like I'm using a free account with ads, even though I'm a paying customer personally and through the companies I work for.

   I pay for a subscription. Why am I seeing "curated PDF spaces" on my "adobe home page" as, what I see, as a distraction and advertisement for TED

10. "Highlight Current Bookmark" doesn't work

    The "Highlight Current Bookmark" option doesn't work. It is very useful when it works, so it should be fixed.
    Issue:
    I have the "Highlight Current Bookmark" option enabled, and working bookmarks in my document. If scroll to a certain part of the document, or jump to it by navigating search results, no bookmark is highlighted. If I then enable "Expand Current Bookmark", the corresponding bookmark is expanded, and the highlighted boomark becomes visible. But then when I scroll further, the highlighting doesn't change, and I need to click "Expand Current Bookmark" again to update the highlighting, even if I am within the same chapter and the bookmark is already expanded. As you can see in the attached screenshot, even though I have "Highlight current bookmark" enabled, none of the bookmarks are highlighted.
    Expectation:
    If I have "Highlight Current Bookmark" enabled and "Expand Current Bookmark" disabled, the current chapter is automatically highlighted as I am navigating through the document (regardless of navigation method). If I have both "Highlight Current Bookmark" and "Expand Current Bookmark" enabled, the chapter I am currently viewing is automatically expanded in the bookmark bar, and the lowest-level bookmark is highlighted.
    Use case:
    When I am scrolling through the document or jumping from search hit to search hit, I always want to see which chapter/section I am in the document, as it is very important for understanding the context.

    The "Highlight Current Bookmark" option doesn't work. It is very useful when it works, so it should be fixed.

13. bookmarks

    Don't open bookmarks by default!

    When opening a document that has bookmarks embedded in it, the bookmarks panel opens automatically (and slowly) and takes up a third of the screen. It's infuriating, takes several seconds before it can be closed, and is completely pointless. Ditch it, or make it take up a tiny fraction of the screen space. I hate the way Acrobat prioritizes bookmarks over every other aspect of the interface.

14. No AI, Add Favorite Tools Option

    The Home menu is terrible, and continues to get more and more cluttered with every update.

    First, why does my "Recommended tools for you" list, default to AI every time I open this app, and I have to click an arrow to the next page with the actual tools. I am so sick of companies shoving "time saving" AI down my throat that actually just ends up wasting my time.

    Second, I would love to be able to set favorite tools, rather than these recommendations. They are truly terrible. What are they basing this suggestions on? I have never even used "Request e-signatures" tool and it's the first one to appear on this list. But it's also right next to this recommended list, in it's own box under "Get documents signed fast". So why is it even an option to appear under the recommendations?

    The fact that it's faster and less frustrating to just to click on the "See all tools" option to find the one I need, means that you are doing a bad job at UI.

15. please stop adding features! Every time I launch acrobat to review a pdf, it has a HUGE pause as you load some crazy ai and whats new stuff.

    Stop adding stuff! We don't need it! Your latest version absolutely just freezes for 30 seconds or more on a 14900 core i9 desktop!! I sit there and wait for it to load "Whats New" and AI info bar at top. It's driving me crazy!!!

    Just stop! Call it done. No reason to add more. please!

17. 2026 Update: Adobe, every iteration of Acrobat gets worse and worse

    Offer two user interfaces for Adobe subscribers. One can be a simple interface for opening files, saving files, finding and using tools, all the important things for people who don't need all the ****.

    The second user interface can be the crapware that has more garbage on it than functional features.

    Who needs 60 Acrobat templates? That's what Word is for. The AI must be powered by Meta because its results are somewhere between illiterate, inaccurate or sixth grade.

    I know, it's so important before the bubble explodes to have AI on everything from toilet paper to Acrobat's interface. But what percent of you paying users use it?

    It's near impossible to open a file, even when it's on the home page recent list. First you have to check the box, then all that does is open a description of the file. ForGod's sake, do you think Acrobat users are so stupid that we can't figure out what's in a recent file from its name? Obviously the UX team does feel that way.

    Bring back an option to use the Legacy function interface so users have a choice between functionality and crapware.

18. Stop asking to make Acrobat the default PDF program

    I said "No" I don't want Acrobat to be my default app for PDF files. Acrobat DC asks me again every time I start the program. That is intrusive and abusive, there is already a button on the start screen for that. Let me choose not to be asked again. I know how to do it through Acrobat (it's in plain sight already) or through the operating system settings.

19. Allow to disable translation banner popup

    Did you know that some people can read and write in more than one language ? Stop asking me if I want pages translated because they're not in English. There's no option to turn off that annoying pop-up that I have to close every single time I open a non English document.

    Please, please allow a feature to DISABLE the bookmarks panel. It is completely useless in most cases but always opens on every new document. I open a lot of new PDFs every day, and EVERY SINGLE ONE pops up with a bookmark panel that is useless and takes up half of the viewing pane, which I then have to close. Truly, it is enough for me to stop using this program and find any other option, even if it has fewer features. This feedback does not seem uncommon when I spent a lot of time searching around for a solution.
