  1. "Auto detect pen hardware to enable markup" missing from settings

That setting is missing for one user and present for a newly created user.
How do we get it back? When it's missing, the use of pen-based entries is horrible. When it's present the pen-based activity is fine.

  2. Adobe DC very slow and froze often

Many people in my company experienced same issue with slow Adobe DC and frozen screen, this became major issue for productivity and if left unresolved will force us to look for other alternatives. We googled similar issues experienced by other users and tried many solutions but could not resolve. And this is not network or firewall issue as it also occurred when work from home.

  3. Collapse "navigation pane buttons" bar by default

Hello friends. Firstly (coming from X on Windows 10) I think the new Acrobat UI is very cool! I have been able to customize almost completely to optimize for my work. I'd like to request a new feature I can't find (but if exists please point me to the solution). I'd like to open a pdf and have the "navigation pane buttons" completely hidden by default. Currently when I open a file I can click the small arrow on the left to collapse the "navigation pane buttons," but I'd really like this closed by default. I have bad eyesight and…

  4. Remember / make default sorting order in advanced search

When you use Advanced Search, there is an option at the bottom to choose your sort order: you can sort by Filename, Date Modified, Location or Relevance Ranking.

The default is Relevance Ranking, which –to me at least – is by far the least useful, since, unlike the others, it basically reorders the files you’re searching in with every search, so you never know what order your files are going to be in.

And there’s no way to change the default (as acknowledged by an Adobe employee here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/advanced-search-default-sorting-acrobat-pro-dc/m-p/9914022).

And then even if you choose another option, Acrobat FORGETS…

  5. Cannot save if file is being previewed in Windows File Explorer

On the Windows 10 desktop, if your view option in File Explorer is set to have a preview pane and the file you're working on is selected and being previewed, Acrobat will throw a dialog window that says: "The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder.".

The preview pane is causing Acrobat to assume the file is in use, which technically it is, but this is a bug that shouldn't cause a file saving error. Selecting another file in File Explorer fixes this…

  7. Allow users to configure the tools that they use, a custom menu.

If I open the comment bar, leave it open until I close it. Why would you think you need to decide when to close a toolbar? If I open it, and close Adobe, I expect it to be visible when I open Adobe the next time. I expect it to be open until I specifically close it. Why would I want to constantly open the only menu I use for 99.99999999% of my menu use in Adobe? And update the time and date on dynamic stamps when I select to insert them again with the "K" keyboard shortcut.

  8. Please overhaul UI to make the mark-up tools easier to use/find

The UI in Acrobat is not very user friendly, in fact I would go so far as to say it's distinctly unfriendly and not condusive to getting work done. I have spent a lot of time modifying the UI, pinning mark-up tools to my ribbon etc. to make it remotely productive to use however when I see some of my less tech savvy workmates using Adobe, they dont have the tools available to them, they dont know how to change mark-up properties (i.e. CTRL+E to bring up the properties panel) and in general the software is restricting their ability to…

  9. Removing quick actions from the Explorer context menu

Please add to the app settings the option to add and remove quick actions from the context menu in File Explorer in Windows 10 for PDFs. Since doing it manually through the Registry Editor is very inconvenient.

  10. Vertical Tabs

Copy Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome's vertical tabs feature for open documents. I often have many tabs open and documents which have been saved or named similarly - especially the first few letters of the filename. This makes navigating between documents difficult because you can't see enough of the file name or title. You have to remember them based on the position of the tabs (which of course changes as you add tabs).

Also, I would like to be able to edit the file name or the file title directly from the tab, even with the document open.

  11. Show file path in the tooltip of the file name tab

As described in the title, it would be nice to have the file path in the tooltip of the file tab. It helps to easily recognize where the file is.

  12. Constant Windows notifications...

Over the past few weeks I've noticed Acrobat has suddenly started triggering an array Windows notifications to update, install, or restart. (Side question: we seriously need to do a system restart for an Acrobat update? For real?)

I'm not sure what UX philosophy prompted this behavior, but I'd really rather it stop. While I think Acrobat is a solid piece of software, I really don't use it that much and I really don't care when there's an update for it.

Considering how no other Adobe app sends repeated notifications like this, I'm a little confused as to why this now…

  14. Simplified Bookmark

The current bookmark system is very flexible and feature rich, but is usually overkill for what I need. When I want to save my place in a PDF book, for example, instead of creating a new bookmark and editing it as I continue reading it would be much easier to just right-click on an existing bookmark and in the context (i.e. popup) menu have an option for "Save my place". Then, when I come back to the document it should just open to that location. Simple.

  16. option to open in read mode by default

The first thing I do when I open a PDF 90% of the time is Ctl+H to go into read mode. Could there be an option to open in read mode by default?

  17. Option to remove (Not minimize right hand tool pane)

This basically a bug that detracts from your product. Due to this feature, you cannot scroll on tablets. Minimizing does NOT fix this.

  18. Please close Acrobat completely when I close last open PDF

As of this morning, when I close my open PDFs (using the X that appears when I mouseover the Windows taskbar), closing the final PDF does not close Acrobat itself. Instead it takes me to the Acrobat home screen.

I don't want this. I want to close Acrobat when I close my final open PDF. I don't see why anyone would want this behaviour, but even if some do, please make it an option (as it has been in the past) to close Acrobat completely when I'm done with my final PDF.

This is an unhelpful and anti-productive change.

    EDIT…

  20. Make the icons consistent across OS

Make the application, file, and window icon the same. Personal preference is the easier to see red version.
