  1. Why do software developers insist on changing, moving, hiding, reconfiguring, the user interface for their software???? THIS ADDS ZERO IMPROVEMENT! Different isn't better; BETTER is better. Why do you think I would be so impressed by this new toolbar that I can move anywhere over the document? You know where I want to move it? I want to move it to the TOOLBAR area. Guess where I cannot move this new floating toolbar - THE TOOLBAR AREA. Just stupid.

  2. When an application-specific Acrobat dialogue pops up, it isn't forced to the front and disables the application interaction until dealt with. This is somewhat normal but doesn't work in practice.

Took me a while to figure out, but I'll skip the who and why and let others decide how to deal with this disability. Feel free to suggest nut-behind-the-wheel solutions.

I launch Acrobat reader, either doc or app, and use the keyboard to immediately open the search tool to find a word. That word is found, but the word is inside a link so it generates a dialogue asking if…

  3. There is an issue with Adobe's printer dialog menu / print preview that, when you print to a copier that requires a copy code in order to print, the job doesn't come out because the Adobe dialog menu isn't sending the copy code.

This is a macOS issue only as far as I know.

This problem is going back to 2017 and has never been addressed. Please see this forum thread about it: https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/pdf-print-jobs-aren-t-processed-with-user-codes-from-adobe-dc-or-acrobat-pro/td-p/9010649

If you're not going to fix the product so that copy codes are sent through your printer dialog menu / print preview, at least give IT…

  5. I am not a fan of the new interface. This does not improve anything for users. It just changes the side a menu is on and forces users to change they way they interact with a document and how they work in Acrobat every workday.

That said, if this is to remain this way... Make the menus smaller or allow the user to adjust them. There is a lot of white/empty space between the tools listed and the actual document.

I typically use Adobe while it is on half of my screen (I have a 22" monitor) so I can…

  6. Don't open bookmarks by default!

When opening a document that has bookmarks embedded in it, the bookmarks panel opens automatically (and slowly) and takes up a third of the screen. It's infuriating, takes several seconds before it can be closed, and is completely pointless. Ditch it, or make it take up a tiny fraction of the screen space. I hate the way Acrobat prioritizes bookmarks over every other aspect of the interface.

  7. It would be nice if the tool bar in new adobe could be made horizontal or docked to the window above such that it does not cover the document when in a splitscreen view. It may be able to be done but I have not had success in the short time I have tried. Also, being able to have a pen to write/draw on a pdf would be nice, I feel I remember being able to do this in the past but have not been able to in a while.

  9. Ai feature removal requests aside, the f4 key is muscle memory for me to get to the Pages sidebar. Having to use the extra click to get out of the AI assistant panel and to the Pages panel that I want, is frustrating. And cumulatively, a time-suck. Feels like user-hostile UI practices.

As a side note, like many, I do not use the AI features in Acrobat. Please serve customers and not stockholders.

  10. From initial versions of Adobe Reader, its search box behaves (in Windows) a different way than any other dialog box.
When I try to select part of the searched text to change it, it lets me select it, and only when I release the mouse button, it selects everything.
It is not possible to accustom it, because the whole Windows environment behaves different way.
So it makes me angry every day for decades!
I suppose there is not any settings or workaround for this problem, so this behavior should be changed.
BTW, I do not understand why this was made…

  11. Fichier ouvert dans 2 fenêtres.
1 page contient un problème et l'autre page contient la solution "à l'envers".
Si on fait une rotation sur la 2ème page, celle-ci s'effectue AUSSI à tort sur la 1ère page.

  12. Often times I need to rename files. Windows explorer changes correctly. However, the display name in Adobe still has the old name. This is extremely confusing when multiple files are open. I often review different versions of the same file and the names will pop up the same and is very hard to keep straight. This has happened for quite some time and with different versions of Adobe.

  13. when combining 2 or more open files, when clicking to close one of them, the other will close too.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. open 2 pdf files
    2. 'combine files into a single PDF' (combine open files) -> you will have file1, file2, Binder1
    3. click X to close file1 ->
    -> file1 and file2 will both close.
    Expected:
    only file1 closed.

  16. This is a bug, not a request - although I am indirectly asking for the search feature to be better.

Your search feature just doesn't work. The attached is a great example.

  17. Just stop constantly redesigning everything to make work for your designers. You've switched everything from one side to another made things harder to find or have just made icons that no one knows what they mean. It just means everyone has to relearn the program every single time. All it does is waste time. Have you ever heard of the adage "If it ain't broke don't fix it"?

STOP CHANGING EVERYTHING JUST FOR THE SAKE OF IT!

  18. As user-based license do not allow sign in on more than 2 devices at once, user should be automatically sign out from one of the previous devices while signing in the new device. For user using different devices or VMs frequently due to business needs getting a prompt and then sign out from previous device is more draining as well as time consuming. While signing in on new device, if it signs out user from previous device which had the oldest last launched, then signing in new device will be smoother for user.

  19. On old Acrobat, when opening a document that claims compliance with PDF/A, a box would appear at the top of the program stating so along with an "Enable Editing" button. Although on a read-only document, I am unable to click Enable Editing; however, I could click the "I" information icon and have it dismissed. On New Acrobat, the same box appears with the same "Enable Editing" button and same "I" information icon, but clicking the "I" no longer does anything. Therefore on certain read-only documents, I am stuck with this blue box permanently at the top wasting screen real estate.

  20. New UI is not so user friendly. Please feedback to your development team that we hope to see the same good features from the old UI. For example, the Ctrl+5 shortcut icon is missing in new UI. We prefer just one click to toggle between thick and thin lines as in old UI.
