Adobe Acrobat DC keeps turning off the shadows of my explorer windows. Changing the theme in Acrobat doesn't help.
Workaround if you encounter this problem:
- Windows key + r
- Run: sysdm.cpl
- on Performance -> Settings
- Under Visual Effects tab -> Show shadows under windows -> Apply
Probably repeat after restarting Acrobat52 votes
It is very easy to add buttons to left Navigation pane. However, you cannot remove individual buttons.
The only option is to Reset the pane returning the three original buttons (thumbnails, bookmarks, attachments).
It seems there should be a way to remove individual buttons at will (not just reset).

Acrobat Pro used to be seamless, easy to use and efficiently laid out. Now it looks like some child's puzzle game where you have to access numerous screens to accomplish what you used to be able to do from ONE PLACE.
Maddening, dumb redesign that apparently was done for what? Tablet use? Why ruin something many of us use in professional settings so students and casual users can play around with their school prom flyer on mom's ipad?
It is ugly and not at all intuitive. Clearly the project team didn't have anyone with institutional knowledge involved.58 votes
After last update (Osx and CC 2020) there is no icon on the top of the opened documents frame in Acrobat. Usually, to speed the work, I export PDF from Indesign, automatically they open in Acrobat and I drag the icon to Skype. Loosing this ability I must find the document in the finder every time.
Someone know if there is a solution to restore this function?

Thanks for Reaching out to us.
Please check the list of known issues here : https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/compatibility-with-macos-10-15-catalina.html
We also have a workaround for it to have it get re-Enabled.
Please use the plist file from here : https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/track?uri=urn%3Aaaid%3Ascds%3AUS%3A0f2d56db-9d37-442b-b6e1-bd7f26d88c36
Please Extract the zip and use as instructed on the helpx link.
Let me know if that helps

Using Windows 10 Home Version 1909 OS Build 18363.657, when I have a PDF file or multiple PDF files open in Reader DC, and when I close the tab of a file and then try to do something with that file in Windows Explorer, such as rename or delete or move or change it any way, I cannot do so because Windows 10 thinks there is still a lock on the file and throws a pop-up dialog that says to "Close the file and try again." The only way I can get the lock released is by closing Reader DC entirely. One should not have to do anything more than close the tab for a file in order for it to be closed and unlocked from being considered still open.

Sorry for the issue that you are facing here.
Do you have Windows Explorer Preview turned on in your explorer window ? If yes, can you please try after switching the windows explorer off and see if that works fine ?
Also Try to close the explorer window and then try and then try to do any operation on that file in a different exporer window
Let me know further.
The new update is a major down grade because all PDFs open in the same display. I have the need to view two different PDF documents on different screens, but Adobe does not support this activity in the currently configured system.3 votes

Just a button for the "Save As..." function. I use this a lot for saving files I open from email attachments.5 votes
When I go to change the preferences > general, the dialogue box is too large, and i cannot access the cancel or okay button. I either have to change my display resolution to make it show in its entirety on the screen, or i have to tab, tab, tab to 'hopefully' get to the button to select it, without seeing it. All other dialogue boxes to the other sections seem to resize perfectly, utilizing a second or third column of text, i.e.Preferences> Page Display. Fortunately, this issue with the General section seems to be the only one.1 vote
I LIKE the zoom box. I WANT to see the zoom level, NO MATTER whether I'm in the "window" view or the "tab" view. You removed the zoom box in the window view, to "utilize more space", as your technician wrote me. I DON'T WANT MORE SPACE. I WANT THE ZOOM BOX!!!!!2 votes
Please Please stop the "Recent" screen opening, just put it back to where it was.
The checkbox that was in Preferences - Catalogue, no longer exists, for windows, (yet it does for Mac)
Thi sseems also tied into the chssck box to "stop" files opening as you are converting various files into one PDF, as as DC opens the individual files its stops the conversion process with the error "cannot continue as the xxxx file is open" i get round by being ready to close the file as it opens, but this is represents several steps backwards.12 votes
If there are no open PDFs, there is no reason for Acrobat to open the next PDF in the next staggered position as occurs when opening multiple PDFs at the same time. It interferes with open tools I like to keep on the right side of the screen.2 votes
Adobe Acrobat DC is just an awful counter-productive tool now in Mojave. It crashes hourly (if not more often) just doing normal very simple tasks that I would normally be able to do in previous Mac OS. It doesn't matter if Im just reviewing a pdf made by someone else, creating a PDF from INDD, adding notes to a supplied PDF, etc etc etc ... it just constantly crashes. No warning, no error, just crash... program just quits out. So counter productive now its killing us as a company. PLEASE FIX!!!21 votes
Can you please update to the latest version of Mojave (10.14.2) and see if issue persists ?
BUG: Default size when opening a PDF file.
I've tried all the suggestions, but when I open a PDF file, it opens with 199% or 165% BUT NEVER smaller. I would prefer that it ALWAYS opens in 75% or 100%. It is a waste of time to go and click on the - to make it smaller.
I've changed the settings in Edit -- Preferences -- Page Display & Accessibility to 75% / Single Page.
What else can I do?? Please help.
It is sooo frustrating!1 vote
The hand tool is just a black square. I cant screenshot as the mouse never appears in screenshots.1 vote
Here's a GREAT IDEA for you idiots at Adobe!
Stop cramming these fking notifications down our throats! All this nonsense in "gadgets" you keep throwing into the user interface is doing nothing but ******* off this $9000/mo customer to the point I'm ready to pull the plug on Adobe products in our company!
Get your heads out your ***** Adobe!1 vote
Seems like the ArtBox preview is redundant to the TrimBox preview. Is there a way to change ArtBox to Safety guide preview? And have the page margin guide be the Safety? The preview would be helpful for reviewing live areas before the trim.1 vote
Step back in functionality and hugely annoying--icons take up too much room, and seem to move/float around. I just had to add the "view one page" and "view full width" icons (side by side, BTW) to my toolbar, when they had been there just a few days ago.2 votes
Adobe Acrobat DC Pro is powerful; however I find it impossible to save my frequently used tools. They move or disappear.
A quick access toolbar (see the one available in MS Word) is essential for me. Acrobat X/XI had something like it, in that my frequently used tools always would be in the same place. I did customize the tools in my Acrobat DC Pro, and arranged the order the way I like them- at least three times. Nonetheless, my customized tools don't appear at next use.1 vote
