I am adding my weight to this here.
Please provide a solution to disable this feature.
It affects my productivity greatly.
Now looking at BlueBeam as a possible alternative. -

They were working on this in 2019. Guess they are **** slow by anyone's standard.

I'm using the Mac version of Adobe Acrobat and now there is a comment icon next to the trash can in a hovering bubble next to things when i go to edit. It's even more annoying than the one trash can. How do we get rid of this feature?

Hi Ayush,
Have you come up with a fix yet? This shouldn't take that long to do....

any update on this annoying trash icon. it is so difficult to edit text boxes and sometimes it gets deleted by accident (as stated below). I hate how they think they know we want and update things without asking if we would like/need it. at the very least, give us an option to get rid of the stupid annoying pointless thing which I never use (unless accidently pressing it).
Any fix please.....................

This fix posted August 13 does not work with Adobe acrobat Pro DC
Go to Preferences
Go to General Tab
Uncheck the Box Saying "Show quick actions on text selection"Is there a fix for this version of Acrobat for a Mac?
I'm still getting the floating trash can. -

the appearance of the trash bin is nice and all, but we need a way to make it not appear when that's the desired operation of the program. one errant click and the comments go away, and we do not all have the ability or time to micromanage every employee's every click to make sure there is never any errant one. Get us a way to get rid of the trash can popup for every single comment

This fix not available in Adobe Professional? I can't get rid of this annoying garbage can. It causes you to delete things in error! You can't edit text comments without it getting in the way!

I didn't even have to manually update Acrobat and the fix works! Thanks, Arpit.

Hi Alan,
Thanks for Reaching out to us. We have Released Latest Acrobat and reader , and with this update we have introduced the option to Hide the Floating Toolbar from Preference. Please follow the below steps to hide the floating toolbar.
Goto Preferences
Goto General Tab
Uncheck the Box Saying "Show quick actions on text selection"You will not be getting the floating toolbar now. In Case you want to use it in future you can always go back and check the box again to use it.

Very annoying and a detriment to productivity to have the trash can in my way and the text formatting toolbar popup every time. Clearly there are enough users who want both gone.

Hi Kelly,
Hate to say this but my Acrobat DC is up to date according to both the program and Adobe Creative Cloud and that bl00dy trash can is still there.
Build 2019.012.20035.
So bloody frustrating that Adobe changes things when they didn't need changing, and that interfere with productivity significantly. -

This is incredibly annoying. The trash can icon is appearing over the place where I'm trying to edit a comment. Who thinks up this unnecessary ****? Acrobat is incredibly clunky as it is and now this!

Please remove the trash can. After selecting 50 comments and heading for the 51st the sneaky can trashed them all. Then a ctrl-z to bring them back, but they are no longer selected, start all over from the beginning. This does not need to be an option, just remove it please, there is no reason for it - the delete key is faster and does not sneak under the cursor and constantly get in the way.

What "genius" came up with this floating annoyance that just gets in the way of productive work? Somebody needs to go back to the mail room for awhile.
