Full Tools, Menu customisation
Acrobat DC wastes so much screen space in non-customisable areas - It is common to 'snap' the Acrobat Application to Half-Screen - but doing so hides many menu Tools, but ALWAYS leaves 'Home, Tools, Document & then The Login Name. - These are rarely (never) used.
Please allow them to be Hidden, Or return Menu/Tool icons to a 'normal' design/style as used in the previous 10 versions of Acrobat.

We are delighted to share with you that Acrobat and Reader Desktop release for DC Continuous (21.007.20091) is Live now and this Takes care of the Feature Request to Change the Display Size of the Acrobat without changing the Scaling/Resolution of the machine. This can be Done from “View” → “Display Size”. For now this is avaialble for windows only.
More Info Here : https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/whats-new.html and go to “Change Acrobat Display Size”
Please update your Acrobat (It should Auto update or you should do Help → Check for updates) and let us know your Feedback.
Thanks

Really need to have ribbon accessible and include all the tools to create or edit a form. I have just spent the last 3 hrs attempting to figure out how to create a PDF from scratch and Im not even close. I can find any of the standard tool. Go back to the old format to create or edit.
May just dump this and find something else to use. -

Mr Senior - you live and learn. I am pleased to have been some help.
I have made a number of approaches to Adobe - via this thread, and the one about the Big Blue Share Button, and also via answers to direct contact from them, but this just seems to be falling on deaf ears.
They seem to have had a redesign by someone who only understands one of the several functions which Acrobat is used for - the editing/sharing brigade. I am astonished that this thread seems to have been ignored by adobe for so long. -

Mr Davies. I obviously didn't know that! Duh! Most of the feedback relates to the fact that the Icons & Toolbars are way too large. The Share button is also a nuisance. Bring back the tidy thumbnails for the toolbar. Highlighting, Copying, Pasting & Dragging in edit mode is inferior to previous versions in my opinion. (I do know how to use CTRL keys for this surprise surprise!). Yes we need to be constructive but the lack of work space on the DC UI on a small screen laptop, (which I need for portability) is very off-putting.

~Stephen Senior:
you say "For Example "Fit Page" is now buried in a drop down as "Zoom to page level"
Let's be fair to Adobe here - Ctrl+0 is an almost universal command for fit to page, not just in Adobe software. I've never heard of anybody using it from a menu more than once - the shortcut is shown when you go to the menu. -

specific request is the page control toolbar, when docked, is truncated. Please allow that to be full size and show all tools!

@Ron, That's tough man. You could bring this thread to their attention; do you think they might at least offer the old version as an option?
-
Ron L. Watkins commented
@Paul O'Brien: I can't do that because it's a department wide requirement/upgrade for me. If I used this as an individual office product then I would never have downloaded Adobe DC and just stuck with XI Pro.

Hello all, guess what? You can uninstall Acrobat DC and reinstall Acrobat XI, although Adobe doesn't make this very clear. Sadly, Acrobat X is not available unless you already own a license key.
Here's how (for WIndows):
1. Download the Acrobat XI Pro Installer (https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/acrobat-10-11-downloads.html)
2. Uninstall Acrobat DC via the Windows Add/Remove Programs tool.
3. Close other programs (esp. Office, et al).
4. Run the installer. It will ask you if you'd like to overwrite any existing files; do it.
5. Rejoice. -

I have been using DC for over 2 months now and can only say that the new UI is a complete mess. For Example "Fit Page" is now buried in a drop down as "Zoom to page level" Tool bar Icons are way too big. Fine if you are using a large monitor but way too big for a 13" 4K Laptop, Working area is now too small. Please go back to Adobe Acrobat X design!!!

Previous versions had better tool bars. In the name of progress and innovation, the user interface has gone downhill.

This absolutely needs to happen. I don't want the share, help, and notification buttons on the right; or the Home, Tools, and Document "tabs" on the left. All these do is take screen space away from the tools for which I do want easy access. The entire contents of this toolbar should be customizable.

I use Acrobat a lot on a second screen, the toolbar/comments being on the right side of my screen makes this being on my far right eye corner.
I would love a preferences where I can move the toolbar to the left side of my window. -

I agree that having to save everything before emailing is a true hassle. I don't always want to save the document. now I have a random junk file I have to save things to and delete once a week. Terrible idea on adobe's part.
also even after installing the patch, I have an additional drop down to zoom in and out rather than the convenient +/- that used to be at the top. I can zoom back to single page view now by adding it to the tool bar. I'm just not sure why it adds that button to the page up/down tool bar rather than the zoom tool bar. Either way its there and easier to use once added. -

Since the update, I hate that now there is a dropbox that must be selected to change to fit to one page. Also, the option to email a PDF directly is now a nuisance because you must save it first. Change these options back to how they were before! And why the blank area in the tool bar now? Waste of space!

Clearly, it's not obvious to most that almost any button except "Share" can be removed from the tool bar. It's not the fault of the users that people can't figure that out, it's the fault of the the software UI designers. Make it clearer that simply re-selecting a button from the View>Show/Hide menu will show or hide a button. It took a while to figure that one out.
As for the ridiculous giant "Share" button, what were you thinking? That's TERRIBLE. -

Agree with everything here. Ever since this update was pushed to my computer by our IT group, I've hated it. Such a horrible UI. Let us customize our toolbars with what we actually want. When I snap the window to once side, I'm stuck looking at the stupid share/feedback/help/notification buttons that I have zero use for. Let me see what I actually want Adobe!

Some icons in the toolbar are useless to me e.g. Share, Home, Tools...it would be nice to be able to customise them.

NEED for more flexibility with toolbars. Urgent need to remove some items from individual toolbars OR to add some options without having to add the others.
For example - the ability to set the "zoom" to "zoom to page level" showing rather than the default "show page to actual size" (which ends up with a ridiculous mega-sized page that takes up the whole damned screen (making it virtually impossible to work with other applications open as well).....

I agree in the comments. All the unnecessary buttons in the top bar is a nightmare! I am angry.
