Be able to show Rulers & Guides by default
It would be useful in Preferences to turn on Show Rulers & Guides by Default. At present you have to go to "View / Show/hide / Rulers & Grids" for every new PDF that you open.

Right status is Implemented. Resolved is used when we resolve an issue with help, educating the user, providing workaround etc. Actual work from our side in this case – hence Implemented.

commentedI can confirm that this still does not work. If you open multiple documents at once (i.e. select several documents, and do ⌘O on Mac or Cont+O on Windows), the first document WILL have the ruler on, but all subsequent documents WILL NOT.

commentedI have "Show rulers when opening documents" CHECKED and it NEVER EVER works. I've tried all kinds of fixes for this and it STILL doesn't work. I've deleted preference files and plist files and rebooted and it doesn't work.

commentedI just found out that CTRL R turns the Rulers on and off, Quicker, but not the same as just being able to control your program preferences

commentedAs expressed in comment above, it would be helpful in Preferences to turn on Show Rulers & Guides by default. Has this not been resolved since original comment in 2017?

commentedwhy do you, the team, take away features that people need? i have to switch it on every time. and with most updates, i need to check my list of critical settings (print requirements--yes, we are dinosaurs here, in that we DO want to print on paper, with all the constraints it imposes--sigh. sorry for the rant, but please.

commentedHas this been resolved? Can I change my preferences so that the ruler is always on for any PDF I open? And guides can be easily grabbed from ruler? Thank you.
