Ctrl+F -- Highlight Existing Search Text When Doing a New Find
In previous versions the Ctrl+F box would appear and you would type your text and hit enter. When searching your next text using the Ctrl+F shortcut would automatically highlight the last search text so you could automatically start typing your new 'find' text. With the new update, it doesn't highlight the last search text, instead it puts the cursor at the end of your last text making you backspace the text or stop and click to highlight the text. This is a huge efficiency loss!! Please help!

In the mean time, you can do the following:
ctrl f + a (opens find dialogue box, then selects all text within the find dialogue box). Not ideal, but better than holding backspace -

This issue is a result of the last update from May 2019 and needs to get fixed! The behavior needs to go back to how it was-- when you hit CTRL+F, it should automatically highlight the last searched word in that find box so you can type over it instead of deleting the text then typing. Please fix!

I think this is the same bug/request as submitted here, which already has multiple votes and is "under review":

I agree with this comment.
It has nothing to do with a particular document, so there is no need for a sample PDF.
Here are excerpts from a chat that I had with Adobe online support today:
ME: Hi. I'm having trouble with the search feature, and I think it is new behavior since I updated.
The "Find" toolbar function is difficult to use because it does not select the previous search term. When I press Ctrl+F and start typing, it just adds to the text of the previous search.
Acrobat Pro DC 2019.012.20035 for Windows Continuous Release [Windows 10, version 1809]
ADOBE: I would like to inform you that you'll need to enter the word as it will show up the word from the previous search. It is an expected behavior.
ME: But shouldn't it highlight the previous entry so that I can type over it? I don't remember ever having this behavior in previous versions of Acrobat.
ADOBE: I understand but it does not show up it highlighted.
ME: How can I request that this feature be changed? It does not make sense to continue using previous search words after I have already closed the toolbar, and that I should have to manually backspace the entire entry every time.
Please submit a request here. https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html -

I think the intent of the newest Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is to leave ctrl+F open all the time. If you are working between 2 screens and click back into the FIND FIELD, it'll select all the text. The issue I have with this is the ctrl+F screen is in the PDF area blocking your PDF.
1. add a toggle feature to allow previously entered text within the FIND FIELD to be automatically selected upon opening ctrl+F.
2. allow the ctrl+F window to be displayed in the toolbar rather than in the PDF area.

Recent updates decreased functionality of find/search tool and now text from existing searches does not automatically highlight so it can easily be deleted. This is causing me to have failed searches, has created additional unnecessary clicks and wastes more time.
