Adobe Acrobat Pro lacks actual editing features
To be an editing program, Adobe Acrobat needs actual editing features.
1) There needs to be a way to set margins, and to lock and unlock headers and footers in place for editing. 2) Compatibility issues with other adobe programs need to be addressed.
I'm trying to work with a file created by someone else in Adobe InDesign at the moment, and there are serious formatting issues crossing over with the text being randomly broken up into multiple text boxes. Even if I copy-paste all the text on one page into a single text area, after I save the document…

Font preview, or "one step backwards"
in Pro XI, when using the Drop List of fonts in "add text", the fonts actually DISPLAYED in the stated font. This was incredibly helpful for those of us who have to be creative with our text additions. For some reason, somewhere along the line between Pro XI and 2017 (which I just purchased and installed) someone in their infinite wisdom decided to delete that feature. please, Please, PLEASE put it back, and sooner rather than later. NOT having it is a major headache.

Spell Checker
A fully functional spell checker is necessary for Acrobat DC (17.009).
Frequently I get documents requiring proof-reading and the only option is to export as a DOCX, run a spell checker there and, for every error, go back to DC and either comment the error or correct it myself. Not ideal, to say the least.
Such functionality would also provide useful features. For example, to check French text has the correct accents or, even, being able to "translate" from US English to British English

How do I upload Open Sans Light Font into my Adobe Acrobat
How do I upload Open Sans Light Font into my Adobe Acrobat
3 votesFor that to work, you will need the original font file.
To install the font:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/314960/how-to-install-or-remove-a-font-in-windowsAfter installing the font, relaunch Acrobat. You should be able to use the installed font in Acrobat after relaunch.

Add link to header/footer
It would be great to be able to have links available in the headers/footers feature. This would help tremendously with very large doc’s with more than 100 pages, particularly if the reader of the document tries to jump from one section to another.
This would help if one tries to create ‘Back to home page’ links on every page in a large pdf document. Say, one creates a ‘Table of Contents’ in the beginning of the deck, with links to every section in the deck. Once you get to the respective section (e.g. pages 120-150 in the deck), it would…

Eraser needed
Acrobat needs an eraser tool, much like the one provided in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. I work with old pdf images of recorded documents dating clear back to the 1800's; these documents have a lot of photographic "static", shadows images left by the camera which took the image photo, and these items need to be erased to give the document better readability. It is hard to describe without watching the process. If you want a demonstration, contact me and you can log into my computer and watch my process.

Reference material is horrible.
For starters when you state "See the PDF Reference for details." in a reference document there should actually be a "PDF reference". Secondly when giving an example make the example about what you are talking about. Organized your reference material clearly not haphazardly like now. You reference material use to be good and easy to use but that in no longer the case.

Windows 10 Free Drawing with Pen
I ordered a pen interface device for my PC (Huion 420), excited to be able to handwrite/draw notes on PDFs, in addition to typing notes on them. However, when I have the device plugged in, the free drawing tool stops working. I can click with the mouse or try to draw with the pen/pad device. Nothing shows up. The drawing tool does, however, work with my mouse when I unplug the device. This bug is one of the main features preventing me from using Adobe Acrobat as my primary note-taking software in medical school.

Bug Report: Update Watermark - Position > Vertical Distance setting > inconsistent setting / display
Using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, Situation:
a watermark was added to a document, vertical distance set to " 2 Milimeters from Top" and document saved. Then re-open document, use "Tools > Pages > Watermark > Update...". The settings in dialog box are displayed as they were saved (e.g. Vertical Distance: 2 Milimeter from Top), however in the preview pane, the existing watermark shows at another position then in dialog (position is displayed at Inches instead of Milimeters). Watermark shifted somewhere to the middle of the page.
Workaround: change Vertical Distance setting to another unit (e.g. Centimeters), then change back to…2 votes -
There is no way to change the default line spacing of 1.2 to a more useful 1 (single spacing).
Adobe's default line spacing is set to 1.20, which is uncommon in documents. Single spacing (1.0) would be much more useful. Because I can't change the default, I have to continually change the line spacing from 1.2 to 1, which is annoying and time consuming. Please update the software so that the user can select the default line spacing.

Where is the ability to "Track Changes"?!
You are missing a most basic editing feature: The ability to display additions or deletes to text in a pdf, as in Word's "Track Changes". How does a client see my edits to their document? Really! Will this be rectified?

Bug: Watermark does not stick to the file
After adding an image watermark, Acrobat visually adds it the file. But the save button is not enabled until I exit editing. So if I close the file in edit mode I don't get the save changed file dialog. In addition, adding watermark to multiple pdf files doesn't work when the files are not opened.

Need to alllow editing of Livecycle forms without having to buy yet another Adobe product.
I have multiple adobe PDF fillable forms that were create in LiveCycle when it was bundled with prior versions of Acrobat. Now I cannot edit them without purchasing LiveCycle ES4 or the product that is now replacing LiveCycle. I already pay for a 3 user license for creative cloud, and just purchased a 10 user license to Acrobat Pro DC, cost of over $350 per month...
