No way to correct OCR errors in Acrobat pro DC
There is a major problem with OCR in Acrobat Pro CD. I have recognized (OCR) text in many documents. They still contain a lot of recognition errors in the hidden text used for search. When I try to use the function/tool "Correct Recognized text" (translated from Norwegian), I get a message saying that there are no suspected errors. It is not possible to correct the remaining errors. This is just stupid, there is no 100% correct OCR program, there are lots of errors in the recognized text. There must be a way to fix the remaining errors, but your technical…

OCR API
As per information from the technical team currently there is no API available for converting the contents of a scanned PDF file to text format.
OCR is available from Acrobat Pro, but it would be more convenient for the user to select the file name and leave the whole process of reading the file, converting to text and processing the data to one program which would utilize this API.1 vote -

Bug in helpsite Fix the OCR error Could Not Perform Recognition in Acrobat
The german version of the helpsite is contradictory to the english one:
In "Additional Information" it reads:
Acrobat kann OCR in einem Dokument durchführen, das bearbeitbaren Text enthält.
In the english version it reads:
Acrobat cannot perform OCR on a document that contains renderable text.
The german version should be corrected because it is misleading!1 vote -
double sided scanning
It would be great if there was a way to create a .pdf from doublesided documents without doing each page manually or having a scanner that does it automatically. Ideally, I would scan the odd pages. Then turn the stack of documents over and scan the even pages. Then reverse the even pages (to go from low page number to high). Then combine the odd and even pages in a way that it will be: 1,2,3,4,5,6, etc

Searching PDFs makes pages turn the wrong way
When making PDF searchable, it rotates a number of random pages the wrong way around.

export bounding box coordinates
The export of an OCR'ed document contains not just the values for each bounding box, but also the bounding box's x,y, coordinates, width, and height. This can be an extremely useful feature when dealing with structured forms / documents where the location of text contains valuable information.

OCR function improvement.
Hello,
I have noticed that some of the other OCR software performs better than Adobe Acrobat DC OCR function... i.e. Power PDF. I wonder if you can improve it's functionality as far as recognizing the characters is concerned?...

Thai OCR
How long do I have to wait for Acrobat to recognize Thai text from scanned images/documents
I am trying to recognize Thai text from the enhance document tool but Thai is not listed in the languages available. While I can't use this fucntion I also have to pay the same price as the others who can benefit from this feature.

Why don't you have the recognize text as a tool on the right hand side of the page? It's a pill to have to hit "Find Tools" every time.

Adobe Acrobat won't work. I've spent 3 hours with two different tech support people, with them coming into my system. They don't seem to understand how OCR is supposed to work. They tell me that adobe thinks my handwriting is an image. Too bad. It's my fault. That is ludicrous. I thought I just didn't know how to do the final steps of a conversation to text. I know that OCR works. I just can't get it to work on my laptop with Adobe Acrobat DC that I pay for monthly.
Can anyone help, who understand how it is supposed…

Scanning with Adobe Acrobat DC Version 19.012.20036
After updating to version 19.012.20036 we have an issue with scanning. Example: We scan pages using our scanners document feeder. Then we select "Enhance Scans", "Insert Pages", "From Scanner" and feed more pages. Then when we try to load the feeder and scan additional pages, it won't let you select "Scan" again. If you click "Close" and then "Close" again in the upper right corner, it will let you scan more pages 1 time and then it won't let you do it again. Before, we could keep adding additional pages to the document feeder and keep scanning.

Selecting Greek text and pasting in Word should be automatic and work just with Ctrl+C.
Greek OCR should be fixed as it seems broken in the newer versions.
Below you will find two paragraphs. 1st is from PDFXEdit (free tool) and second is from Adobe Acrobat 2019.021.20056 (costs two virgins and a first born child). It is expected for such an expensive software to make this process straight forward.PDFXEdit:

Export to Word should retain OCR corrections
This is an OCR and Export issue. Because DC's OCR is not as good as it was in Pro, I get tons of errors that I correct. The correction is great unless the OCR grabs half a letter. However, if I export the OCR's pdf to Word, DC OCR's the pdf again and does not retain the corrections and will export with the same errors. That is crazy.

Highlighter orients itself improperly after a scan
[BUG]
Description: After initially correcting the orientation of the PDF and then highlighting where needed, I then decided to use the find tool to find a word in my PDF. Unfortunately, the PDF was an image and so Acrobat had to enhance the scan to try and search for the word. After enhancing, the page orientation stayed the same but the highlight seemed to rotate itself in the orientation of the original document and not the corrected orientation as shown below.Steps to reproduce:
1) Have a file with text that is scanned in vertically and is viewed as an…1 vote
