  1. Acrobat (version 2019.012.20034) crashes constantely when playing interactive PDFs with movies created in Indesign. Computers still on High Sierra with Acrobat 2019.010.20098 do not have this issue.
On Mojave, as soon as you want to play an embedded movie, Acrobat crashes with this:
This PDF cannot be viewed in Acrobat or Reader, and the application will
    now exit
Please help, we have updated most of our computers in the uni and students can't view interactive PDFs anymore.

  2. Hello, I've created Indesign interactive PDFs for many years (mainly lecture course material), until Acrobat Pro DC version 2019.010.20098 all went well. After the update to 2019.012.20034 all files (from the last three years) with movies in them crash with the error:
This PDF cannot be viewed in Acrobat or Reader, and the application will
    now exit
This is horrible news for our university, can you please help? Obviously we made sure that Flash etc is up to date. Also we tried different security and multemedia legacy options.
As a "work-around" we are currently re-exporting all Indesign content to fixed…

  4. In versions before Acrobat Pro DC you could scroll through advanced search results with the down arrow. Now you must select and click on the entry, a HUGE time waster and annoying step backward in Acrobat's functionality.

  5. Many issues - generally really don't like the new format because it's much harder to get to simple things like "create a red box", "add text", "edit text", "add signature", etc. But also is critically screwing up my documents in ways that make it untenable to work with. If possible, I would get off of this product (I can't because my employer buys the licenses) and here are the reasons why:
    1. Literally reverted my entire document after working on it for 10 days because it couldn't identify some of the text characters (it's got a ton of formulas in…

  6. Using the "Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin" to convert a word document to pdf. If the font is Georgia and is set to italics, when the pdf is viewed in Chrome it shows the italic text as bold. When viewed using Acrobat or Reader, the font appears correct. It does not happen when using any other pdf converter (i.e. office's built-in converter) so it appears to be limited to the PDFMaker tool.

I have replicated this on multiple Windows 10 and Windows 7 computers, and I am using Office 365. This only appears to happen using Georgia font, which is…

  7. Adobe fails to open files when a file path & name exceed MAX_PATH. Windows no longer has a hard path character limit if the LongPathsEnabled key is set in the registry. See https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/fileio/naming-a-file#maximum-path-length-limitation

Modern applications are adopting this new standard with the mentioned file management hooks provided by the OS.

Adobe is falling behind in this regard. Please add proper Long Path support.

  8. Linux users are in dire need of a PDF reader and editor ever since Adobe discontinued the Adobe Reader (version 9.x) for Linux!

None of the currently available (free or proprietary) PDF readers for Linux has proper support for annotating and commenting PDF files. Filling forms and signing documents is also only rudimentary supported by some of the currently available PDF readers for Linux.

Thus, this is a request to revive Linux support for the latest Adobe Reader as well as the full Adobe Acrobat suite.

  9. Upgrade version 2017.011.30142 from (old version) 2017.011.30138 caused issues with Protected View.

Error: Adobe freezes when clicking "Enable all features".
    OS: Windows 10 X64 1803
    - Only occurs with fillable PDFs
    - Definitely isolated the issue to the upgrade on 4 computers. Older version works perfectly.

  10. Rather than re-ordering and re-arranging pdfs within a combined file, I would like to be able to determine the order files are compiled. This can be by file title (alphabetically) or others. Right now when I combine several files into one pdf, they are scrambled out of order and I have to rearrange manually which can be cumbersome for larger compilations.

  12. Is this a bug with reader for IOS or something wrong with this file? I received 2 files in the original email. When I open them on my iPhone, I can see the contents in both files. The file having issues has a ****** first page and the rest isn't a really clean scan but all pages are legible. After Copy To Acrobat, the attached file has nothing recognizable.

I tried to "Copy to Acrobat". Both files saved to acrobat but the attached file opens up as all grey fuzz. No characters visible, nothing. This doesn't happen when I open…

  13. This just became a problem today. Whenever I have right clicked on a JPG or PNG file in the past I can choose to Convert to Adobe PDF and it would automatically do so. As of this morning I am no longer able to do that and keep getting the error message that is attached.

Yes, I can open Illustrator and print to PDF BUT it doesn't allow me to just use the artboard as the entire PDF file. It automatically places it in the middle of a letter sized sheet with a lot of white space around it. Please…

  17. I have this issue with Acrobat Reader 2017. I am trying to sort through a bunch of pdf files and place them in the proper folders. I've come across this bug. If I recently open a pdf in Reader and close it in Reader, I cannot move or delete the file until ALL of the pdfs in reader are closed for a while.

So, basically, I've closed the file I want to move and have removed it from the Recent files, but I still cannot move the file until I completely close the Reader.

How do I fix this? I…

  18. Combine Files option operation does not operate logically. If you open one document and want to add another PDF, click the ADD button, select the other PDF, and click on Combine, all you get is the second selected document! So the Add button does not work logically or properly.

Please make the button work as expected.

  20. Every week my team members print approximately a 280-page pdf of medical billing. Next, each member prints 280 pages and combs through the pdf for certain billing codes they have been assigned to enter. My hope is that with Acrobat DC there is an automated or even just a quick way to sort the 280-page pdf for specific criteria (number or word) and then export to a new, much smaller pdf that only contained the data members sort by.
