Acrobat Pro DC on Mac OS 10.14.5 Mojave won't install - error 1 / other Adobe apps working
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it doesn't seem to help. PS and LR seem to be fine.
Creative Cloud via online. New Mac 15 Pro computer. So first time opening Acrobat on here I think.
Safari Browser 12.11.1
No updates for MAC or Adobe needed at this time.
Reliable internet connection.

Was there ever a solution to this problem? I am trying to reinstall Acrobat DC Pro. What is a stand-alone installer? The .dmg file? It runs, then failure message, no error code. Only thing installed is Creative Cloud

@anonymous Sounds like a fix if you have had Acrobat installed and have a backup of it. But if you have a new machine that has never had Acrobat installed.......it's not so simple.

Same issue, simple fix. I had a backup disk made using carbon copy cloner and obviously that had acrobat on it too. Used disk utility to unmount backup and acrobat installed correctly and runs fine now.

Creative Cloud App is version 4.9.0.504
Yes, I tried the standalone installer as well as the Creative Cloud App installer. Both end up crashing. Latest logs with attempt from CC app are enclosed. Thank you. -

Hi Martijn,
Permission of sudoers file seems correct, we are investigating it still. Will update the thread as soon as we have info.
Could you please share the version of your creative cloud app, you are facing issue with?@JohnAllen, logs shared by you suggests that you didn't install Acrobat via Creative Cloud, you installed it via standalone installer. Could you please try a fresh install via Creative Cloud and share log with us. Make sure the machine is clean (no acrobat exist on your system) . Also could you please share the version of creative cloud app used ?

Are there any updates to this situation? Not being able to install Acrobat is becoming a challenge. Thank you.

Hi Martijn Meindersma,
After going through your logs, It seems your sudoers file is in corrupt state(may be the permission of the sudoer file is modified), hence installer is not able find a valid sudo source to run the scripts.
sudoers file is kept at @ /etc/sudoers .
Please to run command >>
1. ls -l /private/etc/sudoers2. ls -l /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/SLCache
And share the permissions screenshot for both.

I am able to install with the standalone installer but when I try and launch Acrobat DC I get an "error 16" and it crashes.....it also crashes the Adobe Creative Cloud app. I am on an enterprise license (that includes Acrobat) and am able to install other apps, just not Acrobat. Had to uninstall the standalone Acrobat to get anything to work again.

Whilst I was experiencing a similar issue with not being able to install Acrobat Pro DC, even though other Creative Cloud apps were working without issue, I have now been able to resolve this.
Originally Creative Cloud would crash when the Acrobat installer reached between 2-4%, whether attempting to install directly via the CC app or as a download - which then installed via CC anyway?
Whilst capturing the logs via the CC Log Collector Tool, I thought I'd try installing the stand alone application - see https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-apps-download.html.
To my surprise (and relief) the application installed successfully without going through the CC app. I was then able to log in with my Adobe ID once the installation had finished and Adobe Pro DC is now working.
Hopefully this will also work for some of the users here!
Best Wishes
Joe

I'm also seeing the same, or at least a similar issue.
A brand new iMac running Mojave, I am able to install the Creative Cloud app and then via that Illustrator and other apps. When trying to install Adobe Acrobat DC however, as soon as the installer gets between 2-4%, the Creative Cloud app crashes.
I have uninstalled all the apps, run the Creative Cloud Cleanup Tool and restarted the Mac however the issue persists.
Error log (tried attaching but didn't post) contains the following:
1 warnings(s)
FATAL: Error (Code = 183) executing in command 'RunProgramCommand' for package: 'ASUInstaller', version:2.0.0.43
FATAL: Error occurred in install of package (Name: ASUInstaller Version: 2.0.0.43). Error code: '183'

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Joe

I've got the same problem. I've got a mid 2019 MacBook Pro and a paid Adobe CC account. I can install all of the apps without any problem but with Acrobat DC it fails all the time.
I've told Adobe about this problem about a month ago but haven't heard of them since. In the meanwhile I have to pay the full amount without being able to use one of the apps I use the most.
I don't have other partitions, I've got a good internet connection with 600 Mbps download. I really want to have this solved.
