  1. In prior Adobe Acrobat versions scanned pages could easily be inserted into an existing file as a new first page. or between any two previously existing pages. That was excellent as I always add pages to the top of existing documents. That feature appears to have been stupidly eliminated. I want the old Adobe!

This functionality is still there. You can insert pages at any location you want. Follow the steps:
    1. Open any file in Acrobat
    2. Go to Organize Pages app
    3. Click on “Insert → From Scanner” option
    4. Select options to scan and click scan button
    5. A dialog will come asking where to insert scanned pages. Now you can select any option suites you.

Also, at step 3 you can hover around pages where you want to add scanned pages, there will be a “+” button. Clicking it will add pages at that location only.

Please feel free to ask anything you want.
    Thanks.

  2. My Adobe Acrobat DC updated overnight and now my custom scanning tools do not work. Previously I had a custom tool I named scanning with two shortcuts. One for black and white scan, and another for custom scan which I set up to scan both sides. After the update, my scanning tool and shortcuts were there, but they don't work. I tried to recreate, but I cannot scan anything without going to file > create > PDF from scanner, which then brings up enhanced scans. The Black & White tool in the Create Custom Tool does not work. Seems like…

  3. My experience with Adobe’s support staff has been frustrating. Often, no matter how carefully I ask, there appears to be poor understanding of my question. And the staff seems to produce formulaic responses, imstead of specifically addressing my issues. For example:

I have repeatedly asked what computer configurations can best and most quickly handle time-consuming Adobe Acrobat tasks: OCR, placing duplicate buttons on multiple pages, etc.

I’ve specifically asked whether more RAM, or multicore, or other configurations would speed up OCR of scanned documents.

Adobe has not yet provided a coherent response to the above question.

    Many of the support…

  4. The current Acrobat Pro DC Version has omitted 4 Image enhancing features (Deskew, Background Removal, Descreen, & Text Sharpening) & I feel that they should be implemented-edited into the latest Acrobat Version to make it complete. These are very important features.

Option is available in Acrobat DC as well. Serach for Optimize PDF and select “Optimize scanned Documents.”
    Its available under Filters option.
    Thanks.

  5. So the thing is I work as a prepress operator and usually use the Acrobat for checking incoming files if they are print worthy or if the designer needs to change colours and stuff.
Sometimes there are elements, shapes that need to be moved and if we don't have the font or the file was made in Corel or other unknown program and the production is in a hurry the best option would be editing the doc with acrobat.
But since the edit page tries to recognise the pages it takes a LOT of time and with books and even…

    Hi,
We need some information to understand and resolve this issue:
    - Acrobat version
    - Scanner details
    - Scan settings
    - Number of pages scan
    - Does it happen for small files also or only for these bulk scanned files.

    Thanks.

    1. Enhance multiple files at one time
    2. Add the add files/folders option to select multiple files to enhance the same way I can do so when recognizing text
    3. Saves time - since this option will add OCR it will deskew the pages at the same time

  7. When I open up a document on my Macbook which has been scanned in using Adobe Scan (on my phone) then Adobe crashes. Mostly it does this before I can save the files to local disk. Once on local disk, it opens them OK.

    Hi,

    Thanks for reporting your concern.
As of now, Adobe scan app is not implemented for Windows. We will update you if its done in near future.
    Thanks.

  9. I'm currently unable to scan to Acrobat: when I attempt to create a PDF from scan, my scanner and Acrobat go through the whole process, and at the point where the scan should be appearing in Acrobat, I'm returned to the Scan page of Acrobat with no file created. Scanning to Photoshop works fine, so it's not my scanner. I'm on macOS Sierra, with the most recent release of DC.

  10. A patch is urgently needed for Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and DC to overcome Windows' misbehavior vs. Acrobat after the latest update. Acrobat crashes during scan under Windows 10 latest update, often when one scans the first page, but sometimes only after one page or maximum two. I verified that by installing a fresh Windows 10 Enterprise, checked that Acrobat works; then Windows 10 was updated to the latest version and Acrobat scan stopped working on TWO different computers.

  11. As a preprocessing step for our document analysis technology, we need to OCR hundreds of document scans. Since we need not only the recognized text, but also font information and text position, your OCR technology as integrated into the Acrobat DC provides the best quality for our needs, but unfortunately, there seems to be absolutely no possibility to automate the OCR process? Your mobile app seems to access some cloud api, since there you can make a picture with your phone and get the OCRed PDF within seconds from the Adobe servers, but the API is not public (at least…
