1. Acrobat Reading Order matches Source Program Reading Order

   All of our PDFs need to be accessible to people with disabilities. For each PDF we need to generate a report in Acrobat that proves that the document is accessible. One area that isn't working well is the reading order.

   Currently Acrobat's reading order means a computer reading order. We need a disability reading order. Acrobat's reading order is generated by the reverse of the layers panel in the source program where the document is designed. If we want to check the disability reading order we have to go to the tags panel and click on ever single line.

   Can you create an option to check the disability reading order of a document, meaning have the Acrobat check the reading order by auto populating from the source program's reading order panel?

2. Window is not draggable due to UI

   There is no blank space to drag the adobe acrobat window anymore. I would wager less than 1/10,000 people have ever deliberately chosen the "create pdf" option. Get that out of the way so that the window can be moved again. It's such basic functionality that the mind boggles it still hasn't been addressed.

3. The forced New Acrobat experience removed essential functionality and caused major workflow disruption.

   Critical workflow regression: Missing modification asterisk, broken autosave indicators, and forced UI changes in new Acrobat
   This report describes multiple regressions introduced by the forced New Acrobat experience that significantly disrupted my workflow and removed essential functionality.
   Description:
   I want to report several issues caused by the forced rollout of the new Acrobat experience. These changes significantly disrupted my workflow and required extensive troubleshooting to restore basic functionality.
   1. Removal of the modification asterisk
   The classic asterisk indicator (showing when a PDF has unsaved changes) no longer appears, even in Classic mode. This is a critical regression. Without it, there is no clear visual confirmation that edits have been registered. The new UI’s Favorites star icon looks similar and adds confusion.
   2. Autosave and recovery behavior is undocumented and inconsistent
   Acrobat no longer uses the traditional AutoSave folder under the user profile. The folder exists but remains empty, even when autosave and recovery are active. Recovery now appears to rely on session metadata rather than autosave files, but this is not documented anywhere. This made troubleshooting extremely difficult.
   3. Forced UI transitions removed essential tools
   Switching between the new and classic interfaces caused annotation and drawing tools to disappear temporarily. The new interface also opened documents in modes that allowed editing but did not mark the file as modified.
   4. No warnings when autosave or modification tracking is inactive
   When Acrobat cannot write to its autosave location, there is no alert or error message. This leads to silent failures that put documents at risk.
   5. Windows user-folder naming confusion worsened the problem
   Windows displays a friendly user name (“Barbara Johnston”) that does not match the actual user folder (“cello”). Acrobat’s error messages did not clarify this, making it extremely difficult to diagnose why autosave was not functioning.
   Impact:
   These issues caused days of lost time and significant frustration. Acrobat is a critical tool for my work, and reliability is essential. The lack of documentation, silent failures, and removal of long standing indicators made the transition unnecessarily difficult.
   Requested improvements:
   • Restore the modification asterisk in Classic mode
   • Provide clear warnings when autosave or recovery cannot run
   • Automatically create required folders (AutoSave, Temp, etc.)
   • Improve transparency around editing modes and document state
   • Avoid forced UI rollouts that remove essential tools
   • Provide documentation for the new autosave/recovery architecture

4. BUG: "View" context menu missing from Outlook portfolios

   Steps to reproduce the issue: Create portfolio from multiple email messages in Outlook and attempt to change column headers and set a split view.

   Environment: Acrobat Pro 2024/Classic, Windows 11, Outlook 365.

   Expected result: In the previous version of Acrobat (2020 Pro, perpetual licence) I could open an email portfolio file and make minor changes, primarily to 1) set a horizontal/vertical window split view and 2) add a “To” column the default From/Subject/Date/Attachments/Size columns.

   Observed result: When right-clicking on a column heading the previously existing right-click "View" context/submenu is missing. See attached screenshots. The functionality is still there because I'm able to sort the emails by "To", but adding columns or setting a split view isn't possible.

5. BUG: Can't append further emails to Outlook portfolio pdf

   Steps to reproduce: In Outlook, right-click on selected emails and choose "Append to Adobe PDF" to add further emails to an existing portfolio.

   Environment: Acrobat Pro 2024 / Classic, Windows 11, Outlook 365.

   Expected result: Additional emails are appended to an existing portfolio created using the Outlook PDFMaker add-in.

   Observed result: The append process begins but is stalled by the error message "PDFMaker cannot append to the selected Adobe PDF archive because it was not created by Outlook PDFMaker". The process is then cancelled.

   Additional information: As shown, I used Outlook's PDFMaker add-in to create the portfolio, and attempted to append emails to that portfolio from the same folder. Screenshots are attached of the process. One of the screenshots is of the document properties of the portfolio PDF I created for this report. The "Application" field in the "Description" tab of the document properties is blank. I believe this is what's causing the error. The same error was also present in Acrobat Pro 2020 (perpetual licence).

6. Why does it take THREE times to reduce PDF file size in Acrobat Pro for Mac?

   I have very simple PDF receipts that are usually between 500-600KB. Clicking on Optimize PDF, then Reduce File Size should simply reduce the file size. But this usually needs to be done THREE times. I'm not changing the name or location. Why must I pay $239.88 for an app that can't do something that should be easily done?

7. No Caption tags are created in the tag structure

   If I have a Word document with table/figure captions and use Microsoft Word 365 to create a PDF (save as pdf), Caption tags are created in the tag structure.
   However, if I use Adobe Acrobat Pro (Adobe PDFMaker 25/Adobe PDF Library 25.1.5) to create a PDF, Paragraph tags are created in the tag structure instead.

8. Stop the Annoying AI Popups – A User’s Frustration

   As part of my daily workflow, I spend hours reviewing technical drawings in PDF format. These documents require my full attention and careful analysis, so any interruption is extremely disruptive. Unfortunately, the constant popups from this program, insisting that I “summarize your PDF using AI,” have become a major annoyance.

   I want to make it very clear: I do not intend to use AI for my work. My company’s policy strictly forbids it, and I value maintaining compliance and confidentiality. Despite this, the software repeatedly interrupts my workflow with suggestions that are not only irrelevant but also intrusive. Each popup breaks my concentration, slows down my productivity, and makes an already meticulous task even more frustrating.

   I sometimes regret having downloaded this program. What should have been a helpful tool for viewing and managing technical PDFs has turned into a source of constant irritation. I’ve started exploring alternatives that respect my workflow, don’t force AI suggestions, fun games, and allow me to focus on the task at hand without unnecessary distractions.

   Overall, while the software may be suitable for casual users or those looking for AI-assisted features, it is completely unsuitable for professionals like me who require a distraction-free environment. I sincerely hope the developers offer an option to disable these popups in future updates—or I will have no choice but to switch to a more user-friendly solution.

10. BUG PDF Embed API – search bar layout bug at specific resolutions

    The Adobe PDF Embed API viewer displays a rendering error when the screen has a specific resolution; the text search bar overflows the visible area. The bug is reproducible on the online demo available at

    My acrobat documents are getting hover tips that give an image description and say it's AI generated content. It sounds like it's saying that the image is generated by AI when it is not. It is not fair to say my creative work is generated by AI and to convince my clients of that!!!

12. Get rid of prompts to use Generative AI

    I am annoyed and distracted by the constant prompts to use Adobe's Generative AI feature. I do not want this feature. I have disabled the feature. But I still see a brightly colored button advertising it every time I open Adobe. What is worse, when I try to do a simple search, I get another prompt encouraging me to use Generative AI. I already pay $20/month for Acrobat. I should not have view ads on software I am paying for. But Adobe repeatedly forces me to view what is essentially an ad for an feature I do not want. It's distracting and interferes with my work. There should be an option for users to disable AI, after which we can simply use the software to read documents and get our work done without any pop-ups or notifications.

14. reveal in finder

    Acrobat Pro - Right clicking only reveals source file in Finder if acrobat doesn't detect any 'changes' .

    This action is a core part of Mac functionality - every app on the system reveals the file location by right clicking at the top of the window. Please fix.

15. MERGING ERRORS

    When merging multiple PDFs into one and organizing the pages, Adobe on occasion will copy data fields from one page on top of another page overwriting the original data without my knowledge or permission. This is a major bug that needs fixed ASAP

17. Improve accessibility checks/fixes

    Acrobat Pro should be able to find all accessibility errors and suggest a fix for each one, with a button to fix it, similar to find/replace in a document. When I use Acrobat Pro, it finds some of the accessibility errors, but no option to fix them. When I put it into PAC for the final check, it finds more errors so I am spending hours on each document that our agency posts online.

18. PDF links change when file is copied

    I'm having issues when creating links in a PDF file with Adobe Acrobat (Pro) (Continuous Release | Version 2025.001.21288 |64-Bit).

    When I create the link to another PDF while the original PDF is in location A (a network location, that is addressed with the absolute location: \netServer\netFolder\fileName.pdf), the link works fine and the linked file is opened in Adobe Reader displayed.

    This is how the link is created (German version):

    English should look like this:

    Link Properties > Actions tab > Select Action dropdown > Open a file > Select... (to choose the target file)

    However, when I copy the original PDF containing those links, paste it into a different location (location B, e.g. to the Windows Desktop), those links appear to be broken and the linked PDF does not display on click.

    Upon further investigation, it appears that the links are appending part of the path of the new location (location B) to the beginning of the path in the link, effectively breaking the link when the PDF is moved (C:\Users\myUser\Desktop\netFolder\fileName.pdf).
    So the original absolute path somehow seems to be converted to a relative one, breaking the link.

    I have already checked that max. path length is short enough for not causing issues.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    disable annoying popups like "Translate with Adobe Express" or let us disable them in options with one click. It looks like Adobe is out of finding useful functions and just adding more and more clutter to all excising apps.

20. Option to Exclude Generative AI Vectors in Adobe Stock

    Love that there is an option to "exclude generative AI" when searching for photos on Adobe Stock. However, I'm noticing an increasing number of Adobe Stock vectors that are clearly generative AI, masquerading as user-created. Can we include a toggle to remove those as well, or add an extra step when users are uploading Adobe Stock vectors, forcing them to tag whether or not the vector is generative AI? It's very frustrating to open up a stock vector to edit and remix, only to discover it was a poorly created ai generated vector.
