Encrypted pdf , Password glitching
I got tax return statement from my accountant and opened it in Adobe acrobat, but now it keeps glitching and asking for the password multiple times. I already put in the password before the tab opened and now with the document open it asks for password but then nothing happens in the text box when I type!
If I try to type without seeing the password in the text box, the app freezes.other solution, failed on receivers end: Opened doc within email app on iphone to sign documents -> but then receiver couldn't open signed form

AI Assistant
Get that damned AI Assistant button OFF the top of my screen! It keeps popping up right over top of the scroll bar, making it impossible to quickly advance through the first page of a document -- right when all the introductory material I want to skim past is there. Why can't this thing be removed or disabled? The last thing I need is a summary made by a bot with the intelligence of your average high-schooler. This is the most annoying software add-on since "Clippy".

NO MEANS NO
When a popup asks me if I want to make Acrobat the default app for viewing PDFs, and I say "NO," I do not want to see that popup 100 more times, every time I open the app or log back in. NO MEANS NO. You even have a check box in the popup that says "Do not show this message again," and I have checked it. IT DOESN'T WORK. Please fix this, it is very annoying. Thank you.

Accessibility error If there's a hyperlink in the footer of a PDF (converted from word)
The Adobe help documentation does not cover an link annotation accessibility error If there's a hyperlink in the footer of a PDF (converted from word), as it happens because the link in the footer turns problematic annotation during PDF conversion rather than a normal body link.
Most common reasons i found were:
The footer is being treated as an artifact or decorative repeated content
If the footer is artifacted or tagged incorrectly in the PDF, Acrobat may flag the hyperlink because the link annotation exists but is not properly associated with the content.Word sometimes exports footer text infragments, especially if different formatting is applied within the same footer. That can cause tagging errors or reading order issues.
A footer link may show up as a link visually, but the annotation is not nested properly under a Link tag in the tag tree.
Repeated links in headers and footers can create a large number of identical annotations. If even one converts badly, Acrobat may report an error.
The PDF was created in a way that strips or weakens accessibility structure
If someone used Printto PDF instead of Save As PDF or Export to PDF, links and tags often break. The Adobe help documentation does not cover an link annotation accessibility error If there's a hyperlink in the footer of a PDF (converted from word), as it happens because the link in the footer turns problematic annotation during PDF conversion rather than a normal body link.

Send PDF as attachment using Outlook new
Speaking for Acrobat DC for Windows, it needs to be able to email a PDF as an attachment using Outlook new. It can already email a PDF as an attachment using Outlook classic, but Microsoft is pushing customers to move to Outlook new. I get that Outlook new does not support MAPI like Outlook classic does, but these two large companies have the resources to solve this. Not every PDF workflow is suitable to be shared using a link in an email - an attachment is sometimes best.

Hide or Disable Prefill Role
The Prefill role is currently always visible during document preparation. We would like the option to hide or disable this role. This may cause issues because users may accidentally select the service account and apply a field template to it, which can disrupt the intended workflow.

BUG: Acrobat won't save e-sign signature
No matter how many times I attempt to save an image to the e-sign, Acrobat will not retain the signature. Every time that I open Acrobat, I need to go through the same process of adding an image to use as signature.

allow window selection of commentin objects so they don't have to be clicked one by one when, for example, you want to move them
It is often necessary to move a number of commenting objects to a new location while needing to retain their orientation relative to each other. Currently the only way to select them is by CTRL + clicking them one by one which is tedious for a large number. Please allow selection of multiple objects by dragging the cursor to create a rectangle around them.

Bookmark Panel
Please, please allow a feature to DISABLE the bookmarks panel. It is completely useless in most cases but always opens on every new document. I open a lot of new PDFs every day, and EVERY SINGLE ONE pops up with a bookmark panel that is useless and takes up half of the viewing pane, which I then have to close. Truly, it is enough for me to stop using this program and find any other option, even if it has fewer features. This feedback does not seem uncommon when I spent a lot of time searching around for a solution.
Just put an option in the preferences to disable the bookmarks panel, please.

Window is not draggable due to UI
There is no blank space to drag the adobe acrobat window anymore. I would wager less than 1/10,000 people have ever deliberately chosen the "create pdf" option. Get that out of the way so that the window can be moved again. It's such basic functionality that the mind boggles it still hasn't been addressed.

The forced New Acrobat experience removed essential functionality and caused major workflow disruption.
Critical workflow regression: Missing modification asterisk, broken autosave indicators, and forced UI changes in new Acrobat
This report describes multiple regressions introduced by the forced New Acrobat experience that significantly disrupted my workflow and removed essential functionality.
Description:
I want to report several issues caused by the forced rollout of the new Acrobat experience. These changes significantly disrupted my workflow and required extensive troubleshooting to restore basic functionality.
1. Removal of the modification asterisk
The classic asterisk indicator (showing when a PDF has unsaved changes) no longer appears, even in Classic mode. This is a critical regression. Without it, there is no clear visual confirmation that edits have been registered. The new UI’s Favorites star icon looks similar and adds confusion.
2. Autosave and recovery behavior is undocumented and inconsistent
Acrobat no longer uses the traditional AutoSave folder under the user profile. The folder exists but remains empty, even when autosave and recovery are active. Recovery now appears to rely on session metadata rather than autosave files, but this is not documented anywhere. This made troubleshooting extremely difficult.
3. Forced UI transitions removed essential tools
Switching between the new and classic interfaces caused annotation and drawing tools to disappear temporarily. The new interface also opened documents in modes that allowed editing but did not mark the file as modified.
4. No warnings when autosave or modification tracking is inactive
When Acrobat cannot write to its autosave location, there is no alert or error message. This leads to silent failures that put documents at risk.
5. Windows user-folder naming confusion worsened the problem
Windows displays a friendly user name (“Barbara Johnston”) that does not match the actual user folder (“cello”). Acrobat’s error messages did not clarify this, making it extremely difficult to diagnose why autosave was not functioning.
Impact:
These issues caused days of lost time and significant frustration. Acrobat is a critical tool for my work, and reliability is essential. The lack of documentation, silent failures, and removal of long standing indicators made the transition unnecessarily difficult.
Requested improvements:
• Restore the modification asterisk in Classic mode
• Provide clear warnings when autosave or recovery cannot run
• Automatically create required folders (AutoSave, Temp, etc.)
• Improve transparency around editing modes and document state
• Avoid forced UI rollouts that remove essential tools
• Provide documentation for the new autosave/recovery architecture
Thank you for considering this feedback. I hope it helps improve the experience for other users.Critical workflow regression: Missing modification asterisk, broken autosave indicators, and forced UI changes in new Acrobat

BUG: "View" context menu missing from Outlook portfolios
Steps to reproduce the issue: Create portfolio from multiple email messages in Outlook and attempt to change column headers and set a split view.
Environment: Acrobat Pro 2024/Classic, Windows 11, Outlook 365.
Expected result: In the previous version of Acrobat (2020 Pro, perpetual licence) I could open an email portfolio file and make minor changes, primarily to 1) set a horizontal/vertical window split view and 2) add a “To” column the default From/Subject/Date/Attachments/Size columns.
Observed result: When right-clicking on a column heading the previously existing right-click "View" context/submenu is missing. See attached screenshots. The functionality is still there because I'm able to sort the emails by "To", but adding columns or setting a split view isn't possible.

BUG: Can't append further emails to Outlook portfolio pdf
Steps to reproduce: In Outlook, right-click on selected emails and choose "Append to Adobe PDF" to add further emails to an existing portfolio.
Environment: Acrobat Pro 2024 / Classic, Windows 11, Outlook 365.
Expected result: Additional emails are appended to an existing portfolio created using the Outlook PDFMaker add-in.
Observed result: The append process begins but is stalled by the error message "PDFMaker cannot append to the selected Adobe PDF archive because it was not created by Outlook PDFMaker". The process is then cancelled.
Additional information: As shown, I used Outlook's PDFMaker add-in to create the portfolio, and attempted to append emails to that portfolio from the same folder. Screenshots are attached of the process. One of the screenshots is of the document properties of the portfolio PDF I created for this report. The "Application" field in the "Description" tab of the document properties is blank. I believe this is what's causing the error. The same error was also present in Acrobat Pro 2020 (perpetual licence).

Why does it take THREE times to reduce PDF file size in Acrobat Pro for Mac?
I have very simple PDF receipts that are usually between 500-600KB. Clicking on Optimize PDF, then Reduce File Size should simply reduce the file size. But this usually needs to be done THREE times. I'm not changing the name or location. Why must I pay $239.88 for an app that can't do something that should be easily done?

No Caption tags are created in the tag structure
If I have a Word document with table/figure captions and use Microsoft Word 365 to create a PDF (save as pdf), Caption tags are created in the tag structure.
However, if I use Adobe Acrobat Pro (Adobe PDFMaker 25/Adobe PDF Library 25.1.5) to create a PDF, Paragraph tags are created in the tag structure instead.1 vote
