macOS Acrobat Pro – Removal of Default Selection Tool Setting (Usability Regression)
Dear Adobe Acrobat Product Team,
I am writing to flag a usability regression in the current macOS version of Adobe Acrobat Pro.
In previous versions of Acrobat, users could set the Selection (cursor) tool as the default on opening PDFs via the “Always use the Selection Tool” preference. In the latest macOS releases, this option appears to have been removed entirely, with Acrobat now defaulting to the Hand Tool and repeatedly reverting to it during normal document navigation.
For users who work extensively with text—particularly legal, academic, and professional users—this materially degrades workflow efficiency. Selecting, copying, annotating, and marking up text now requires repeated manual intervention or keyboard shortcuts, despite the user explicitly preferring the Selection Tool.This change appears to be a regression rather than a redesign, as:
The functionality still exists on other platforms / older versions.
No equivalent replacement setting has been provided.
The behavior contradicts long-standing professional usage patterns.
I would strongly encourage Adobe to:
Restore the “Always use the Selection Tool” option on macOS, or
Provide an equivalent preference allowing users to define their default tool on document open.

bring back previous/next view buttons
The old acrobat had buttons that went to previous or next view. These are also accessed in the old and new acrobat with "alt - <" and "alt - >". I generally navigate a document with my hand on the mouse.
To return from clicking on bookmark, it used to be convenient to click on previous view "alt - <" without lift my hand from the mouse. Of course, I would add this function to my customizable toolbar.
Now, this is no longer available, and I have to lift my hand off the mouse and go to the keyboard to type "alt - <". Please bring back the next, previous view buttons that I can add to my toolbar.

Bug: Acrobat hangs on Organize Pages view
I scanned some large images and am trying to add them to a PDF. After 8 pages, the Organize Pages view is consuming all my RAM and Acrobat runs out of memory.

Printable proof of receipt that includes all recipients of a document sent via Adobe Sign, regardless of their status as signers or Cc'd.
My current solution is to open the Audit Report, place it next to the list of Cc'd email addresses, and take a screenshot of the two. I then paste it into a Word document and convert it to a PDF for documentation and to submit to the client for their records.
This is a GREAT waste of time!

There needs to be better versioning and timestamping.
Versioning and timestamps are an essential part of collaboration and development. Currently, there is no obvious versioning, and file transfers do not honor creation or modification dates or times, not even when files are zipped. If I download a single file from the cloud, it is not zipped, and arrives with the time and date that of the time downloaded. If I download multiple files, they are zipped, but when unzipped they have some bizarre timestamp that is sometimes in the future, and sometimes the current date and time. It's so haphazard and I have to use the 'touch' command, or a third party tool to change the creation and modification date and time to match the EXIF data.

Over time, I have accumulated many files with redundant content (e.g., the same pages scanned multiple times in different files). Ruler/Highlight Feature
Ruler type feature that displays or highlights one row at a time. Similar to using a ruler on a piece of paper that a typist uses to type data from that one line.
When I have rows of data that I need to use in another program, it is difficult viewing the information on a screen and typing that information into another program, and it is also difficult to keep track of placement in the pdf.
A ruler that highlights one row and blocks out others, that can be moved down the screen as rows are used, would be great to have.

Bug: Font color changes to black when creating PDF from MS Word file
Using latest MS Word and latest Acrobat DC on latest MS Windows.
Creating PDF from docx file, turned off all accessibility features in Word and Acrobat. Settings maximised for best quality.
Since last week, the export is rendering some fonts as Black in the PDF, whereas in Word they are Navy blue, or white with navy background.
Rebooted, installed updates, tried other colour combinations, checked all Word and Adobe settings for accessibility. I have opened the PDF in other viewers and the problem persists. Images are all fine, it's just the font colour which changed.
This was working ok one week ago - I have not changed the colors since. See screenshots.
